Although the recording was legal, the high court said the arrest was valid because the man could have been arrested instead for impersonating a police officer.In an opinion for the court, Justice Antonin Scalia said the officers didn\"t have to provide a reason for arresting the man at all, as long as they had probable cause to do so.\"While it is assuredly good police practice to inform a person of the reason for his arrest at the time he is taken into custody, we have never held that to be constitutionally required,\'\" Scalia wrote.
the only possibe reason i can see from anyone being worried about things like this is if they are guilty or have plans to commit a crime. or extreme paranoia. (illness) why shouldnt the police investigate this sort of thing? perhaps the arresting officer doesnt have access to inteligence required to give a reason at point of arrest. perhaps its a suspected terrorist or a memeber of a gun running group, or perhaps they are being used as a go between & police need help. who knows in this one example basically, from the point of view of somebody who does nothing wrong more police and more power to them only makes me personally feel safer. and i have no problem with feeling safer in the climate of fear.

I can understand that. in my opinion leaving is not an option. ya c I live in France, and even here I can feel the repercutions of the US gov\'s decisions. (it was a US gov\'s decision that spawned the marijuana laws, for exemple) you are american, you CAN do something about this. I can\'t. If you leave the US, then you flee away from the only place where /you/ can make a difference. True, you have a point. I could either fight the gov\'t or just deny it and leave. I would like to change it yes, but its harder said than done. I am a lazy person and i am not too active in politics/government. I would have to be extremely motivated to protest and find ways to make change, as that is not my way of life. As for me not making a difference on earth? Just because i don\'t do anything about my government means i make NO difference? I guess thats just sad for me then huh?
