yeah they're great nutes imo. Sorry i shouldn't have assumed.. but you were discussing organics and botinacare products in the same post.
oh my bad didn't mean to confuse, I will be going to a completely 100% organic grow on my next time around using just my compost in my soil and compost teas created directly from my compost tumbler. I just used botanicare before cause that is what I had available to me. IT is like 99% organic though so close enough.
Ahh...the powers of burning one...allways sets my mind right. My apologies to all....except DickDean...he must be stopped. Much repect to all . That folks even take it upon themselves to "break away" and grow their own is great! I wish all who smoked could. It is the best experience to smoke something that you have nurtured. Lets get a couple of things sorted out... Soil vs the Hydro.. This will be a debate well after all have us have passed on. I am sure this we can all agree on. And yes, there is plenty of SUPER soil grown bud. I could argue on a few points here, but all in all...it is the users preferance for sure. Outdoor vs Indoor. I think you all know my thoughts on this. And yes, I can certinly concede that there is also alot of great outdoor smoke. But for Dick Dean to state NOTHING beats Mother Nature and outside is completley false. This is a well known fact. I live in an area that is the forefront of growing in America. We see EVERYTHING under the sun, and under all types of different lighting combanations. The whole indoor culture has grown leas and bounds. Just the ability to control all aspects of a small envirionment should say it all. You cannot predict or control MotherNature. You can't supplement 1500ppm of CO2 in MotherNature. August, much repect, and again, my apologies sir. I have a buddy that your thoughts and set up remind me of. We have the same debates. It's great. And there is nothing better then joining up and "comparing". I could tell you the results, but I allways forget...lol. Anyway, I was going to say that as far as outdoor. I have never seen bigger or "fuller" plants then outdoor. The finished product is another story. My 2cents, and I will Play Fair. But I would pwn u all in BF2!
taking what I said out of context my friend yet again, of course a perfectly climate controlled indoor evnironment can provide better than outdoor cause you can control every aspect and buds don't get abused like they do outdoors. But when it comes down to the light you cannot in your right mind sit there and believe that the any light we have can compare to the powers of the sun. Hope that clears things up for you. Things can be improved upon but we must remember to work along side mother nature instead of against her. I also wish everyone could grow their own but until then I will continue honing my skills and having fun providing for my friends and myself the best I can. I sampled some of my bubbleberry last night and man was it a ride into heaven, taste is already really great without any cure and it was very clean smoking. Happy growing to all and no hard feelings here Hal you take it easy and good luck in all your future endeavors.
I'm going to argue with you on this one, Hal: "... to state NOTHING beats Mother Nature and outside is completley false..." Mother Nature wins, hands down, fully and completely, in the potential grow area. Okay? Like, if we could utilize our square footage in all of our most perfect environments, we would have a decent crop. Not a dent in the electric bill. All except for some uptight pricks sayso, right? Can ya' argue wit' me there, M8? E4A2S
mother nature definitely wins under perfect conditions.. unfortunately mother nature isn't always perfect, which is why people grow indoors. but ya if it were 80 and sunny every single day of the year and completely pitch black at night i'd be growing outside for sure
My post was kinda jokey , not really meant for any significant argument, but it got me wondering... I haven't really done a big history tour of the sweet leaf, but there are some areas of the world that became famous early on for their product, right? Was this because the strain indiginous to the area was particularly potent, because the area recieved optimal light and weather conditions, or a bit of both? I mean, there must be someplace where at a given point in the season, barring any disasters, the climate will be in good contention with the optimized conditions we can provide indoors. E?
i'd imagine it's to do with weather and soil conditions which in turn provides optimum potency. Kinda like wine (i know i keep going back to that) wine grown in NY state compared to Napa/Sonoma/Italy/spain etc is a joke. Kinda like weed grown in NY state compared to cali (no offense NY but we don't have the long season like they do)
When I first signed up here I got so caught up in the technicality's it scared me away from growing. Just recently for something to do as a hobby I got some seeds, germinated them, and tossed 4 in some small cups with holes in the bottom, put them in a open tupper ware container, added some moisture lock soil from MG, and added a fluorescent lamp. Easy as pie, spent basically nothing and was minimal hassle! They are looking good and I have something to keep me occupied since I am having to keep track of them. Nothing wrong with going all out and being a mad scientist about it but don't get all worried its the only way. K.I.S.S
you imagine correctly good sir cause that is why the different original land race strains really show their true colors is because of the climates they orgininated from and that is what gave them each their unique qualities. THe so called sweet spots are called that for good reason cause they can provide weather conditions not capable of being reproduced anywhere on earth except in that certain area that those original strains came from. Really why alot of strains these days I think are losing their quality because they are being inbred too much and we really need to have some people revisit these sweet spots heavily and grab a bunch of seeds from the original plants that are still around albeit not as many are as there was back in the 70s when alot of this was actually going on in full force which is the reason we have so many good strains to speak of today.
Ever wonder why the Cannibis cup winners are all mostly indoor? I can't remember one that was outdoor. Strange.
Man Im tryin to start a small room of 5-7 plants max any suggestions on where i should start with lights
