    Anyone ever heard of freezing their bud? Idk. I was kickin' it with the homies and they were all rambling about how they keep their weed fresh and my boy was telling me that weed becomes more potent and stays potent longer if you store it in a freezer. I call B.S. on that, but I've never tried it.

    I've done it and know other people who have done it. Idk bout making it more potent lol. But nothing wrong with throwing it in there imho

    yea freezing it wont do anything to it , just keeps it fresh , dont freeze it straight off the plant though because it still has water in it and will mess it up.

    Good job on calling BS, because you were right. If anything, bud stored in a freezer that isn't properly vaccum sealed will go bad. I've seen it happen to a friends half pound of mids. He thought he could store it in the freeze in a zip lock and it turned his bud black. Maybe it got freezer burnt.

    Good lookin out homie! I think Im going to stay with airtight containers. My weed doesn't last more than a couple of days anyway.

    Leaving it in for a few minutes (maybe 5 to 30 mins), won't make it more potent but it'll make the trichomes more brittle.This can be useful for making bubble hash or some shit.For smoking, I doubt it does anything. Most likely a placebo.~1996 Jiggawattz~

    Yeah never heard of that. I know I keep my packs of cigs in the feezer to keep them fresh but that's it ! LolSent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum

    This. It could also theoretically slow down thc degradation some keeping it stronger longer. Would have to be done just right though.

    Certainly wont make it stronger though

    The trichs get brittle and break off really easy at those temperatures (hence why we put product in the freezer before the hash making process). I personally don't freeze my bud because in my honest opinion any time the containter gets bumped, moved, or opened- even just a little bit- your gonna have trichs falling. The stuff at the bottom of the jar would be a gold mine but I would want all that intact with my pot still. Just my .02

    If anything, freezing it makes it less potent because as some have said on this thread, it makes the trichromes more brittle and easier for them to fall off, especially if you're running your bud through a grinder.
     
    Freezing your herb is good for making hash when you're trying to extract those trichromes, but doesn't make a lot of sense when you're just going to smoke it.

    it also seems to dry the stuff out really bad, I had done this in the past, was not impressed at all with results myself. I think either a mason jar painted black so no light gets in and not opened very often, or a Cvault kept in a cool dark place would be best for long term storage.
