Yo-Yo Ma in Headphones

  1. I'm buzzing right from a small bowl christening a homemade bong. I'm having a blast listening to music on my headphones; Yo-Yo Ma is playing Bach's Cello Suites. It feels like he's playing alone in a spotlight on a stage, an I'm sitting alone in this huge concert hall, listening.

Also, as he plays each note, I hear each note, but I feel in my mind about where the pitch is on a piano in terms of left and right, i.e. lower pitches are on the right, and higher pitches are on the left. It feels like that position in my head is where the notes are physically coming from. Very strange and cool.

  2. Haha, sick sick..i love blazin with headphones, music is Godly.

  3. Sounds pretty cool dude.

  4. Ahhhh I love musical experiences like that!! I really enjoy going to live classical concerts high. If you're in college, you should check out your school's orchestra/wind ensemble after a few bowls...it will blow your mind.

i'm sure you'll notice this later, but ya got it backwards.....lower pitches are on the left, higher on the right :)

  5. Haha, of course. My mistake.

  6. You should check out some Percussion Ensembles. That's some trippy shit...nothing like listening to some John Cage percussive pieces after smoking a bowl.
