I'm trying to start my second ever run soon. I would like to know if there's anything I can do to improve my current setup for yield purposes. I yielded 1.3lb for my first ever run. Things went pretty damn well all things considered, but now I think it's possibly time to start exploring improvements that can be made to my overall setup. 5ft by 5ft by 2m long tent 1x 450w t5 florescent for early veg 1x 1000w reflector light MH/HPS for later veg/flowering I was advised to clone the broken piece of my tent(corner beam connector) by another user. I think that's what I'll do to avoid spending cash on a new tent here. Another user said he used cfl lights for veg. I just don't have any further experience besides what I've listed as what I used for my first run. Any possible suggestions are welcome.
also check out @trojangrower scrog technique see if you fancy a little low stress training if you scrog right you will yield much more than the untrained plants thats fact alson genetics play a vital role in final yield how many plants in total are you growing
@Progrouk i suspect you told him about cfl Spreading the word, i have plants under CFL now theyre the most happy plants ive ever had in veg, loving life they are.
That's my buddy Trojan right there. He helped me towards the end of my first run when I was bugging lol. I should definitely start following his stuff. I commented on his journal or duo journal before, but I will definitely take a look when I get the chance here.
I tried to LST my first run. I think I did decent. Definitely not a "master" at this technique though lol. I also topped. Think I executed that pretty well. I did five plants my first run. I would love to know what I should do to maximize my space for yield. I had a long veg period of three months for my prior five plants before I switched to flower. Went through cups>1G>3G pots. These were regular feminized seeds in which I could control the veg time. Never tried autos, so I don't know anything about them other than that people grow them with great results.
loool i just mentioned on op other post that i veg with cfl and it grows the best most vibrant healthiest plants i have ever veg under MH and HPS and getting rid of the ballast for the whole veg cycle is great i have like 3 threads going atm and they are all fully veg under cfl so if you want to see real results instead of what people have to say about them stop by and have a chat with us pictures speak a thousand words bro
my first time doing them now in my aquafarm 2 creme brulee and 1 sour lemon tart and just started germing a jumping black dash auto
Exactly my bro ,i have a 2700k sat directly on top if auto and shes flowering quite well at the moment
Am I looking at the right thread here bro? 3 MHM (mt. Hood magic) 4 original glue indoor grow from seed I literally don't remember how many weeks I veg'd for my first run(word doc w/ all the info for myself was on old computer that broke). In any case, I have all my stuff documented in my journal to fall back on if need be! You're pretty early in on that run I linked above. Go through my journal to see what the t5 florescent(150 bucks) did in terms of the early stages of veg for my first run if you'd like. People were saying it was awesome. The plants really loved it.I had to switch to that 1000w ballast when I transferred to 3G pots. Is cfl good for later veg as well?
yes thats 1 of them theres also 3 chocolate cookies 5 BCN ctical xxl currently 5 week flower on monday and theres 2 farms i also veg under cfl PG 2nd aquafarm grow first time auto adventure and i had one just harvested citron givre (birthday cake election) in my first aquafarm grow and all was under cfl from breaking soil to flip 12/12 ill defo drop by and check that beast out lol
Can't find it from your postings homie. That's interesting cfl is good for that long. How cheap are these lights? That would save me a great deal in terms of setting up the reflector light on top of the plants when I remove the t5. Or I could just use the cfl from beginning to end of veg as you're saying. Keep in mind that this tent had five plants in an X formation. I don't know how autos would fair in this amount of space whatsoever, or how many of them I should have in there.
in the indoor growing theads ive got one on first page 1 on 3rd page 1 on 5th page and 1 on 10th page i just been and checked lol
Ive been growing 10-15yrs and cfl is noe become bew setup for full veg cycle, theyre amazing for veg.
Alright. I'll try to check it out. Do you have a watering system for your plants? I had to manual water the first run. It was a bitch at the end, but I found that success with a single feed a day til runoff growing in Coco Coir.
in my aquafarm its drip irrigation but in coco id feed twice maybe 3 times a day in hot days but i love bizz so in soil its every other day in flower for feeds
Is there any sort of manual feeding product you would be able to advise me to get in terms of feeding plants solution? For the first run, I used a 1000ml cup and a basic funnel. That got vexing and extremely hard as I had to crouch down to feed. Also made quite a mess when I spilled inside there. Just looking for a much easier time with the feeding as it pertains to that. I already bought much more sturdy saucers than the flimsy ones I had previously. I also think because I fed once a day I had some minor issues(slight yellowing fans). After having a good amount of time to digest the run I did, I do think the bud might have turned out even better if I did two feeds. It did turn out great, but I made a few errors in keeping calmag in the feed for too long. This caused a nitrogen toxicity issue at the time. I'm definitely going to feed twice a day for the next run at the minimum and see how the bud turns out. I have 3 seeds left from the previous batch I ordered. Didn't have a dehumidifier either. People advised me to buy one as well, but they're pricey and I was worried about even having it at my place alongside everything else at the time. Still don't know if it's necessary.
I use 30ml syringe and the products i buy have a plastic cover under the lid and i pop my syringe in there and it dont make a mess just pierce the plastic with the syringe and dehumidifier are essential if your RH is high or you risk mould i take it you will have a hygrometer ??
Yeah. I had that in the run. Monitored the humidity and temperature during all points. Also kept it canopy level. I just remember posting the plants and some of the leaves were curling at the time. That's when the dehumidifier talk started coming about. It was randomly getting super hot and humid here for days at a time. There were other potential issues that could have contributed to this. Like the single feed I did a day. I now realize that. I just need a better tool to feed. I had a 100ml syringe as well, but they each took around 2500ml water with the 3 Gallon pots to each runoff. Couldn't use it for the feeds. The issue with Coco is that you need to water til runoff each and every time to avoid salt buildup. Your plants could potentially "lockout". I was warned of this and actually had to flush the plants for 3 days to avoid the issue in totality because I had made the mistake of not feeding til runoff for around a week thinking it was fine. My ec/ppm meter was telling me some bogus readings(cheap ebay one). The pH meter I bought alongside it was garbage as well and never calibrated correctly. I then bought a cheap pH testing kit online upon the advise of a friend and I never had a pH issue again. So easy and cheap.
