Yield?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by Massive.Matt, Apr 17, 2005.

  1. Alright, so I was looking through a few strains and came across Skunk 1. A well knowen strain. I looked at it for a bit and noticed that the outdoor yield was much larger than the indoor. Why is this? It's over 400 gram difference. I alwasy thought that growing indoors was much better. What's the deal?

  2. Plants grow best in their natural environment do they not. Natural light from the sun is needed for maximum yields I suppose in most cases. But growing indoors allows the grower to grow nice potent buds all year round without having to rely on the sun or worry about the elements or their crop being found out so much.

  3. because as much as u wanna replicate the sun, u cant.

  4. marijuana has spent thousands of years evolving to the sun, not lights, sun has exactly what the plants need mate, out doors doesn't have the heat factor, maybe frost/cold factor in some places, and it has an abundant supply of c02, if a plant can pull 500 grams out door, and only 120 indoor, this still doesn't mean you can never pull more than 120 grams indoor, jus means its alot harder to do.

another thing is, just have more plants 4 of em and there is your 500 grams.

    Grow on :D

  5. Wow, thanks for clearing that up guys. Lukily for me, the only place I can grow is outside. I just need a good place where the plants will get a lot of sun. But I guess that's a problem a lot of people have.

  6. Advertisments in which a comparison is made between indoor and outdoor yields will mean that outdoors the plant is grown for a whole season (April-october) while the indoors example is based on a SOG-setup of a 11 week grow cycle. It's obvious that an outdoor plant will grow much bigger.
If you would grow a plant indoors under proper lighting in a 20 gallon barrel for the same period of time, it will probably get as big as the outdoor plant. But don't get fooled by advertisments; those figures are based on ideal conditions.
