Hello everyone. I just finished my 1st indoor grow and the results were a bit unexpected. The grow went well overall I'd say, but it wasnt free of problems. I grew 4 plants with 2 MIGRO ARAY4 240W leds in a 4x4 tent, used humboldt secret supply nutrients and very diligently maintained ideal conditions for them. Each plant was mainlined, grew 8 main colas and on average yielded between 3-4 ounces per plant after drying and trimming. Now im not by any means disappointed, and the quality is excellent, however based on what I have read, I expected to harvest a bit more. I'm just wondering what others typically produce and if my harvest was a little bit low? I understand it's hard to say for sure, but I would appreciate any opinions and/or any estimations as to what you would expect to yield given similar circumstances. Thanks in advance. TLDR: is 3-4oz per plant a decent yield, and if not what is? What do you typically harvest per plant from an indoor grow?
depends how u grow em. I can yield a lb off a plant, but its one plant that I baby. My bro just started a thread, he's pushing for a P, maybe want to check it out, 1 lb Auto grow , Dwc , Mars Hydro SP3000 also, have a look through some of my media pics, you'll get the idea.
240 watts 14 zips . You did excellent . Only way to step it up is add more lights . Now your next run in that 4/4 area . 16 plants 3 gallon pots / Top the plants just once. Veg 8 inches tall . Three of those lights . Expect 2 or 3 per plant . total of 32 to 48 . How did you like the lights you used ? I watched the owners you tube vids .
For me 4oz per plant and up is worth the effort. Just finishing 3rd run and have exceeded that every time so far. I have a seedling under a T5 now that will be my first outdoor plant and have absolutely no idea what to expect.
Lights pot size veg time and nutrients all play a part in maximizing yield along with proper training. You're pushing 30 watts a sqft which is minimum with a high end light. Not too shabby tho for a first grow. You'll progress with each grow. Also the strain you grow. Some strains produce less some bigger buds than others.
Thank you all for the info, it's good to hear. And I will definitely check out the 1lbs plant thread. That would be a pretty cool grow, I'd love to try something like that! So firstly let me say that I have no experience with any other lights...but imo the lights were great. I had 1 minor issue that was probably more my fault than anything which I'll get to in a sec. But they shipped quickly and safely, their website/ YouTube has good info, and he was honest and upfront about their products and didn't just try to oversell the lights. My plants grew incredibly fast, and I think these lights have great penetration with the four separate fixtures. So the issue I had was with hanging the lights; now it wasn't that they were difficult to get set up in the tent, it was that I could not get them to hang straight over the plants. According to the product information, the orientation of the lights doesn't matter, but it drove me a bit crazy not having nice even parallel rows of lights in the tent. The way the lights hang with the power cord and then the metal cross bars that connect the lights together all need to be carefully assembled....even a little bit of tension in the wires or misaligned/unbalanced crossbar placement can cause the light to rotate. Now after quite sometime messing with them, i finally got them oriented "properly" and I think the next time I set them up it shouldn't be an issue. Idk, its not a huge issue but after having put in a lot of work getting the rest of the tent set up perfectly, the lights are no different. So overall great lights, if you're interested I can post a few pics describing the issue I had and what they looked like once fixed. Thanks again for all the replies!
I'd say around 1 oz per square foot is a good ballpark. I don't like saying per plant because that could be different for every person. I've seen people do everything from 1 to 16 plants in a 4x4.
14 oz from 16 sq ft isn't bad. I get about 1 oz per sq ft from hydro autos by letting them grow the way they want. As DaPhats points out, yield per sq ft is a better measure.
I like 4 oz plants, more like 4+. But it takes some searching for genetics and pruning to keep them that small.
Interesting issue . You should email the owner let him know your issue. It be cool he gave you something free lol . My advice is . Can you hang the lights on a piece of wood or something . Then use 4 hooks on the end of the wood. This should keep it level with two rope ratchets . Think you will get my point .
Some people veg for 30 days some for 3 months. Some people grow low yielding strains some grow higher yielders. 3-4oz per plant is about what I get with a month veg. My last pull with 4 five gallon pots and month veg yielded 3.5oz, 3.75oz, 4oz and 12oz plants. Would expect totally different results with different strains.
