New grower here, got a bubba kush going from seed, things looked pretty good at first. First sets of leaves are nice and green, but my petals are turning yellow. At first wasn't acknowledging my waters ph. Then i did some research about ph and am now treating my gallon of water before watering due to city water usage and on my ph test it read 8.5 and higher. So with a balanced amount of ph down. At letting the gallon settle for 24 hrs. I have it at 6.5 ph. I started off in a solo cup recycled dirt (from seed) and notices two things. Purple stems and yellowing petals. Now I'm not sure if the purple on the stems are from the strain or from some form of deficiency. I recently ran and got some organic soil and transferred it over 3 gallon and I think it's perked it up. But I'm just concerned if my other leaves will suffer from this. Here are some pics the last pic is in bulk & white due to the led light I'm running for veg. 16/8 hr cycle. Not sure if the brand or watt output. But that light is bright!!! Considering using seaweed extracts as a small feeding before flowering feeding cycle. What are your thoughts with seaweed extracts pro and cons? Thanks for your feedback and help. Oh a petal!!!! Ooooooooohhhhhh ok I get it now, you were talking about the plant!! Sorry, my bad. Why doesn't anyone ever talk about bike pedals on GC anymore?
Normal to some growers. Plant will grow out of it. Water ph'd an no nutes til more leaves. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
If you are talking about the cotyledon starter leaves on the lowest part of the stem, they will yellow and fall off when the stored food supply is used up and the plant starts growing normal leaves. If the lower leaves are turning lime green you need to start with a weak fertilizer or transplant into better soil. PW
