Don't worry about her she's gonna get bushy now... I hope like hell you aren't under age but here goes.
Be sure you have a good slime coat over the scrapes and wounds and if the break point is still there, you need to cut it clean at an angle.
When you place the cutting make a clear path with a knife a small stick or something and do not drag the coating off the cutting going in. Then pack the soil around the wounds.
After planting the cutting, Keep the cutting in partial shade like filtered light but bright but never full sun, until she stands up and puts out some new growth, then over a week move her to stronger and stronger light only after you know she's rooted.
If your mom asks about the aloe leaf, you used it on a cut scrape or burn.

  2. Im of age. Dont worry. But im about to get everything done. Thank you once again. Ill keep you updated on how its looking. I appreciate all the help youve given me. If i knew you, id owe you big time.

  3. If you go out there and she is totally wilted put her in a pan of warm water not hot body temp like. in a pan or pot with a lid to keep light out. soak her some hours til she's crisp again (you can do that with wilted veggies and lettuce too). Cut the end 1/4 inch off at an angle then do the rooting thing. If you can't keep her moist it will be rough going. I often root in straight perlite but it needs watering a lot sometimes 2x a day.
;)Good luck, I hope it works out.:smoke:

  4. She was still lookin good when i got to them. If anything, the bottom half looked worse. I mixed the compost dirt with some perlite, watered it down, used a potato peeler to scrap the stem, cut the angle at the bottom, got it soaked in aloe, stuck a wooden rod in the dirt, them put the plant in, and misted. Hope i did everything right.

  5. sounds great. If she wasn't wilted then you are good to go. Be patient for 7 to 10 days maybe more. Did something dig around her? Why do you think she was broken? any foot prints? Animal tracks? Get me a photo of her if you can. Some close ups of the break and the ground and stem at the base too.
Maybe you ought to put a good dose of that compost around the mother.

  6. I didnt see any signs that something was up there. I forgot to trim the leaves on the top half, should i do that tonight? Also should i trim the big fan leaves on the tall plants? Also, the sixth picture, the one of the mothers stem, all the plants main stem look dried out like that. Is that a problem?

  7. The first one is a boy. sorry
The other photo's are blurry but the stem was broken not chewed or cut and the brown is the scab.
Can't tell if the other is a boy or girl.
Now one thing could have happened is someone came along saw the boy and thought to help you out so they could come back later to get the girl. or they wanted you to get it out of there w/o messing you up. anyones guess.

  8. Fuck! Are you serious? I checked all three of them at early stages and they all had pistils, and still have them. All the pictures are of the broken plant except the last one. The other two plants came from fem seeds. Are you absolutley positive its a boy? If so, should i get rid of the top and bottom half?

  9. She's a HE
so move on forget it. I have 2 males on my page but they aren't close ups it was raining today. They are a group of youngsters I put out a couple of weeks ago because I decided not to do a winter grow. It will work in my favor but not yours. Pull it up and bury it. Don't move it around before you douse it with water. Water kills pollen.

Now for the other 2 get me some really good clean shots of the tops looking down on them and another couple of shots very steady and focused looking up through the center so I can see in the crotches of the stems where it wants to branch.

  10. Well shit. Theyve been moved around a couple times. So the pollen could have already been transfered. Damn, this is very upsetting. Can you just tell by the way the leaves look?

  11. no but I know why you probably thought it was a gal.
no biggie, you still have 2 others don't ya? ;)
You are learning, this stuff happens. You gotta roll with it move on. Do you think experienced growers grow this stuff 15 years or more and never have a problem or disappointment? This is your first grow? It's a learning process, you don't expect much first time and you won't be disappointed. You'll get it and you may get a great little harvest.:smoke:

Who knows where they are? besides you?

  12. Youre very right on all those points. I just gotta think positive. I may need to get a couple more pictures of looking up the stem, but ill give you what i have for now.

  13. It'll take about an hour but I'll go get the shots to show you what I need or some shots and you can judge for yourself if they are guys or gals. I have both. Be back shortly.;)
oh # 3 looks girl. The other shots don't show me anything and that one doesn't either. gotta get close, I'll show ya.

  15. Ill get those as soon as possible. And i saw those two little tags and thought it was a female. Do you think it pollenated the other plants, given they are females, i only noticed them on sunday, and didnt two days before, on friday. Only moved once, about twenty feet during the time till you told me it was male.

just study those pictures like they are porn and go out and see if you can tell.
Take pictures if you cannot tell, be sure when you take the shot you aren't shooting at the sun and use the macro which is the lil flower. hold the button halfway down and don't shoot til it gets in focus. prop the camera on your knee or something so you don't shake. Up close it's hard to get the shot clear. I must have taken 30 cause I shake a lot.

If you didn't see dust or lil white or pale yellow open flowers you're solid. It's harder than you think outside. Unless the male is taller and up wind. If he opens there's lots of dust when you move it. Can't miss it. If I don't want something pollinated when I handle the males, I wet it all down first.

  17. Well i got the pictures. From what i see they look female. But obvisouly my eyes arent trained as much as yours. I didnt see any dust or pollen so i think im good.

  18. First two are one plant. Last three are second plant.

    girl Picture 1
    girl Picture 2
    girl Picture 3
    not sure Picture 4
    not sure Picture 5
sometimes the first calyx that shows a hair can look like a ball, so just wait it isn't a problem unless they open. When you see the hair you know she's a girl. The last ones will give you good practice.:D
    Great job
    :smoke:

  20. So the second one could be a girl? Kind of confused.
