yellowing leaves and buds

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by sliknslim, Jul 9, 2019.

  1. Hows everyone? I have 2 identical plants and one is absolutely fantastic. The other not so much. They are "the White" from clone growing in happy frog and ocean forest mix. 5 gal felt pots inside a 5x5 grow room covered in mylar and a 1000 watt hps. blower filter and fan. temp is generally around 80-90 and humidity is usually less than 50 but has gone over 60 a few times. i feed every time I water about every 3rd day. one feeding ill give them 2-6-4 neptunes harvest, 1oz per gal, 1.5 gal each, the other feeding would be a compost tea consisting of worm cast, seabird guano, high P bat guano, langbeinite 0-0-22 for K (about 5 tbs per plant, Ive only given this once) the rest is fish hydro, molasses, very little kelp meal, alfalfa meal. almost 2 gal each until i have considerable run off. PH is generally 6.5 going in and 6 coming out. I give 0 to very little N. I do have a DIY C02 generator that seems to be putting out some C02 but nothing to shout from the rooftops. Sugar and yeast and fish bubbler.
The fan leaves around the middle are turning yellow from the tips and showing some (burn?) tips are turning brown. the single leaves in the bud are turning yellow starting with the veins and working through the rest. These have been in bloom since 6-12. I have noticed the sick one has stopped putting on mass and the pistils are starting to turn a tad brownish. hope I can fix it before its too late. I know i'm probably missing some very pertinent info but I but my brain cant think right now. itl;l catch up later. Thanks for anything you got.

I wouldn't feed them every day. You are causing the levels to increase and that causes the yellowing. I would water with just plain water from now on and let the plants use the excess of nutrients within the soil and their leaves and stalks.

When the plants start showing signs of malnutrition, feed them and then wait until you water at least once before you add more nutrients to prevent the issue from arising again.

I don't think I ever gave more than a teaspoon / tablespoon per gallon of any nutrient. Should I be? Is it like steroids for the plants, I wouldn't mind a bigger harvest but don't want to run into any side-effects from the 'roids - so to speak.

  3. Thanks for your reply P&P. I dont feed or water them everyday but being in such a small pot i do need to water them every 3rd day and thats when I fed them. You think I'm feeding too much? Its very possible and I did wonder. I've heard that overfeeding will effect the new growth and this looks that way. I'm gonna take your advice and just give them plain ol h2o next time and see. about the sterioids, thats your call. not sure if there is anything that would pump em up like that. Thanks again.
