yellowing leaf tips

  1. Hello everybody,

This is my first post here. I have just started growing weed and everything is running according to plan so far, except that I have just noticed that the leaves of some of the plants (lower leaves) have yellowed at the tips a little.

I have read through quite a bit of info and most people suggest that this has to do with a lack of N. However, this seems unlikely considering I have used commercial soil and the plants are in their first month of growth. Others have suggested that it has to do with overwatering...

Any suggestions? Could it also be a PH problem. If so, is there a way that I can test PH without having to buy an expensive piece of electronic equipment?

  2. forgot to say: another reason it seems that N def is unlikely is that the plants are growing very quickly, or so it seems. Also, I am growing indoors - a piece of info that may help you guys responding to my enquiry.

  3. Welcome to GC.
Pictures are always very helpful. You can get PH test strips or a soil ph meter for under $6. I would recommend them. How old is this plant exactly? They don't need fertilizer for about 3.5 weeks of normal growing age. When you say commercial soil do you mean Miricle Grow or something? Any nutes in the soil? N problems will go from the bottom of plant towards the top. What type of lights do you have and what are the air temperatures in the room (if growing indoors)?
