I am starting to stress a lil. My plants have started to yellow or I should say there green is light in color. I have looked into many solutions but I am not "aware" enough as to what is what. I have some fault as to knowingly useing methods I cant avoid right now because of the 2 grand I dropped to get this running. 1st I am using tap water at the moment and I know from life that it is hard. I will get some strips to test it till I get my ppm/ph stick. The leafs on a few of my plants have turned brown and look to be dead. The yellow pigment seems to picking up as well. They seem to be slow but am looking for opinion on that. Other than that they are beautiful and seem look healthy. I have them in 6" rockwool running 24 hr light. Water 3 times a day and measure good or bad by the weight of rockwool cube. I dont feel they are over/under watered. I aslo am curiouse about there maroon stems ALL of them. Any how I will come up with more so we will see. Oh and NO NUTES have been used but I am wondering if maybe I should. I am just skeptical because of there delicate stage ? I have a plan but would love to hear from EXPERIENCE of your mistakes than make my own. Thanks ladies and germs.
Ok. First problem - your overwatering ALOT. Your plants will die very soon if you don't stop watering so much! This is why your plants leaves are drooping down! VERY BAD! Let the rock wool be completely dried out until you water again. You should only be watering once every 3-5 days, not 3 times a day! Do not water until that rock wool is completely dried out, and then wait an additional day. That will fix problem number one. Second problem - the yellowing and browning of those leaves will continue to get worse very soon judging by that brown tip on the leaf. What kind of lights are you using (wattage and spectrum and type), and how far away are they? I've narrowed down your second problem down to 2 things. 1. Heat stress or 2. Your tap water Answer the light question I asked and I'll get back to you with how to solve it. Note: You should also wait for a better grower to give advice, I'm a total noob and only on my first grow but I do have the basics down, and am 90% sure of myself with these answers. Edit: ABSOLUTLY NO NUTES! Your not even close to adding them. Unless you want to complicate matters 10 fold, don't add nutes until they're alot bigger. I've also realized that if your plants are growing slow, it is definitely caused by the amount of water your giving them. When you don't give the medium (soil, rockwool, etc.) a chance to dry out from watering, you are literally suffocating your roots in your plant, which stunts growth of roots and leaves (inevitably death). Edit: Your purple stem is nothing to worry about, it's either genetics (mine is) or it's related to the above problems.
This is some pretty useful stuff for the mind to lick on Ska Cannabis Nutrient and Deficiency Table. Yeah I have my own speculations but I have only messed with outdoor crops and am no so sure whats a prob and not on hydro. But I do "MAD" homework and am fully stocked with hard drive charts and books and blah blah blah buuuuut some times u need human eye to help.So thanks to all for the replys and I hope you all keep the help up and check out my grow.
Err assuming you didn't get back to me about the lights I can almost guarantee it's your tapwater that has too much of a nutrient and burning it, I've seen it on a lot of other threads. Use distilled water. You should really heed my advice on overwatering, though.
