Yellow tips

  1. Hey guys! So my seedling sprouted but the tips of my cotyledons are yellow. Wondering if this is a problem and if so how I can fix it. Thanks![IMG]
  2. It's natural for the cotyledons to start yellowing/paling. It's not a problem. It just means that the plant is using up its own nutrients to survive. Pretty soon you'll have to start feeding them very small doses of nutrients or transplant them into some kind of soil like Fox Farm Happy Frog or some similar soil before the yellowing/paling starts to affect the actual true set of leaves.
  3. Just as too much or not enough light can cause yellowing seedling plants, too much or too little water or fertilizer could also be the problem. Overwatering, however, is a very common cause of sickly plants. Let the soil begin to dry a bit between waterings.
  4. What kind of soil are you using? might be too strong for seedlings.
