  1. ok.. well my plant is just now starting to bud and latly the small leaves by the base are yellowing and some large fan leaved towards the middle of the plant are also yellowing.

i fert with mgrow 18 18 somthin and well there in cow compost wich they have been planted in, only two weeks ago, i dont think its a nitrogen problem because of that, but it seems that way just because its yellowing near the bottom,

i cant find to much help on my problem so as a last resort ill ask you guys because you guys probly know from experience.

  2. Looks like nitrogen deficiency to me. N deficiency does start at bottom and move its way up the plants. Is this plant outdoors? Is it in the ground or a pot? What are the temps? What is the soil ph?

  3. Excess manuer...cow compost..can cause not only fert burn but nute lockout, especially if there are hot spots in the compost....then your adding ferts to an already over nuted situation.
personally I would replant again in proper soil mix I dont feel this will be any more of an issue on the plants as they may not yet even recovered from the transplant 2 weeks ago

  4. about the ph... i have nothing to figure that out with...

its out side.. ina hugeeeeeeee pot. but not to big for its size

well i would much rather not replant because its a hassle to carrie 2 40 pound bags out through the woods at night, do you think it would be possible to flush it out?..

what did you mean by hotspots?

and what causes nute lockout or what ever?

  5. hot spots are parts of the manuer that havent completley broken down yet, not only higher in temp but releases high amounts of nitrogen and amonias

manuers and composts with high animal waste content give off enough nutrients and cause salts build up in the medium and the roots lock down (nute lock) the intake of needed nutrients

on top of this you have a fertilizing regiment

flush 3 times the volume of the plant container with water and epsom salts @ 1 tablespoon per gal....if the plant shows signs of recovery(no further necrosis on the leaves) transplant it or you will constantly battle this nute lockout
