What was the time from harvest to now on the reveg? I'm planning on flipping in a few weeks, and if the wait time isnt to bad then I'll reveg them two along with the clones, I'll have the space for vegging as this will mean that when I have the dedicated flower room built I will be able to fill it and have more plants to pull cuttings from. I'm still tweaking my soil each time I transplant and have had to resort to teas for added organic feeding. Lots to learn yet.
Well it took a week for them to recover, then I let them veg for 4 weeks, only meant to let them veg for 2 weeks but my dam timer failed and I wasn't on the 12 -12 for two weeks when I thought I was so that sucked. So really it was 3 weeks from recovery to flower again. It took me 5 but that was my fuck up for 2 weeks. Some tips if u do this 1. Leave lower airy buds so plant recovers faster 2. Infuse soil with triple nitrogen dose . I use bat guano, normally I add 2 tbsp so I added 6 heaping spoons and mixed in soil. 3. Change at least 50 percent of your soil with new soil, add double dose of lime and kelp meal along with guano 4. I spray mine with a tea tree folar spray. 4 drops in a spray bottle of water, spray plants x2 daily. Tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic and helps plants heal after harvest Chop 5. Use a hardwood or Coco mulch of 1 inch or more in pots. Helps with water retention and plant health 6. Be a little patient, first set of leaves will be rounded and look strange, 2nd set will be normal and plant will take off once given time to recover bro Sent from my MotoE2(4G-LTE) using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Thanks Black. Tea tree oil eh. I'll have to add that to my ipm kit. 2 weeks of veg eh, that's a pretty darn quick turn around time. Even 5 weeks isn't so bad. Hell my girls are still vegging though they seem to have taken off and are putting on noticeable size daily. I figure I may have 2 more weeks before I have to top them to conserve height. Plus they become cuttings. Waste not want not. Still have to get this damn thing figured out. Was considering using pine bark for a base mulch and adding in O.M. on a regular basis as needed. Of course adding worms too. I will prob transplant the reveg into 15g pots at that time to account for the extra soil requirements. Should work out fine. I just finally got a source of lime. Still trying to get kelp locally. Though may jave to resort to local see weed ( great Lakes surround me. I'm never more that 15 minutes from water here ) and use as a top dressing and get a ton for my compost pile. I also just passed a field filled with nettle today so going to harvest and possibly transplant one into the garden maybe this weekend. Still need to find comfrey.
Well 8 girls still in veg. Few cuttings rooted and waiting on rest to root theb hopefully I have this thrips invasion dealt with. Neem isnt cutting it. Hit it with a garlic ipm. And a soap. Holding off on nuke option for now. Dont want to flip till its under control. I'm all ears for any more options. Will be harvesting some ladybugs shortly to help with management. My one sativa ( all bag seeds) is twice the size of the other 7 indi, and will need to be staked up she's already top heavy. And she's the only one to sex in veg so yay. Might top her down foot or two as she's already 5 9 from base of floor and 8.5 ft ceiling is going to be to close If I keep her this size now. Which is just fine for me if I can get the two cuts ( it was topped at the begining) to root and have 2 larger sized plants to veg and flip as soon as the roots develope enough to feed the plant.
Ok guys and galls. Quick question for anyone who might be listening. My sativa is to big for me to flip her into flower as she is. So I want to cut her down a bit. I guess I'm just looking for conformation that a- all I will lose is the time I spent to get her this big. And that she is still going to add size when I flip her to flower. She's aleady over 6 feet. She was topped young so she has two main colas. I have about 8.5 ft to ceiling. How much should I be removing before I flip the room?
First day of flower. Height and time is becoming an issue so had to flip today. Running into a few problems. Trying to remedy them but struggling. I had a pretty bad thrips problem. That I'm still working on. Few more round of ipm should have it taken care of but some thing still has these girls pissed off. I've uploaded a few pics. I apologize abut the lighting. Should have taken pics before changing the bulbs. Any help with these would be greatly appreciated.
How long has she been in a pot for. Maybe shes a bit rootbound? Have you been keeping up with the worm castings as well?
The sativa was just tp to the 15g pot. Others have been in 5 to 7 gallon containers for about 3 weeks. Haven't top dressed ewc for a few weeks. But have top dressed mbp. And a bit of alpha ( small fistful per )
I would go with a ewc to start with, and I usually put some amendments in there with it. I hope that straightens them out bro
Well were 11 days into 12/12. 3 for sure females. 1 for sure male. 1 completely unknown ( prob male ) And 3 that I'm 99 percent sure herms. So much so that I just cut one down to give the others a bit more space. Will give the other 2 suspected herms a day or two to verify better. Will either be seperatin the male for breeding ( good strong plant) or just chop and drop mulch it. That will be decided tomorrow. I have 2 un know clones that are going outside today. Hermit or female they will be harvested for hash or concentrate they are only 10 to 12 inches tall but will start flowering outside soon. I need to get some high cbd low thc strains for my elderly grandmother. She's getting up there in years and is I'm constant pain. The cbd helps more than the prescription percs. Anyone that has any suggestions for this is highly welcome.
Day 21 of flower. I have been under watering a bit and have since corrected this problem. As sg1 says "pick up your damn pots." I've battled spider mites thrips and fungus knats on this grow. Now that I'm in flower I am using only control methods ( ladybugs) and it seems they have all but wiped out everything. I on see a few fliers now where before there were hundreds. I haven't seen any thrips or spider mites in 2 weeks. built a seperate chamber for the hermies as I didn't want to lose 3 more plants. Especially since this is just personal use I don't care if I get some seeds. Have all 3 flowing in a 6x6 space under a 150 hps in a hood. Not how I grow normally but I needed a cheap light to finish them off in. The ladies are still rocking forward. I am considering tp 2 of them out of 5g buckets in 15g to finish them off. The sativa is rocking in the 15. She's 7ft tall already. I've got 2 rooted clones of the sativa. And 2 rooted clones of one of the other females. Not sure which. I may reveg both just to take proper cuttings again in veg. Next up is going to be a dedicated veg space. Enough to feed both flower rooms. Full harvest every 4 to 5 weeks ( 4 to 5 plants each) except for the sativa which I think will need an extended amount of time in flower. Lights go off shortly. Time to get a few updated picks for you guys and gals.
First three are of hermies. temps are much more constant in the basement. I haven't even hooked up an exhaust just have free air exchange atm. But for smell purposes I will have to hook it up soon. I also need to either use white plastic or mylar and need to inslate the block walls also. I have put 3/8 cork on the floor already. Few more nights of a bit of work and she will be set up how I want it.
Last three are in the main flower room. Bigger temp swings being in the attic. Even with AC and full running exhaust. But they are still chugging right along. 600w hps. I may add in a 400w mh light also after I insulate that room also. But we will see.
Damn it all to hell I hate spider mites. Trying to find an eco system balance for the room but damn being mother nature isn't easy. Just hope like hell I can keep em at bay until harvest. Released lots of lady bugs so hopefully they can wrangle the population down
well its been a while since I last updated. Lifes been her usual bitch self and has thrown a number of large curve balls. Anyways. harvested earlier than anticipated. The monster sativa was so stressed she threw nanners on almost every bud. Sever foxtailing and a failed grow lead to disaster in that plant. The two indicas were both quite nice, though again pulled a week or two early due to the sativa. The sativa weighed in at 2.8 oz of very larfy bud. not great to smoke at all so will just strip it with etho soon. both indicas, each a different pheno, gave up 48 g of decent quality bud. love both phenos. the Hermi room harvest was minimal as expected and came in at about 2 oz total of meh, somewhat seedy bud. lots of trim that went to butter and saved for the etho run. almost 7 oz of popcorn bud and trim thats been dried and cured awaiting the etho run which will be used to make tincture and caps. my outdoor plant hermed also and was pretty seedy but produced the most flower for size of plant and size of soil pot as expected. this came in at almost 3 oz of decent but seedy bud. not a huge fan of the pheno tho. All of this is of unknown genetics other than having smoke the mother. Round 2 is in the garden now. Down to 1 room now as its getting to cold and the other room isnt insulated from the elements so heating it would be cost prohibitive right now. Two clones of the indicas, unknown which ones, and 3 small clones of the sativa, though only 1 seems to be surviving. I am keeping them as i am testing theorys to resolve the issues the plant seems to be having. i have the following round that I just popped seeds for in the starter cab, popped 2 purple kush fems, 2 cbd dutch treat coming in at 4%thc and 8% cbd, as well as a northern lights auto freebie. plan is to train the strongest one of each into a bonsi mother for cloning, and for a trained scrog in the cab as my grandmother has asked me to show her the entire process from seed to harvest so she can grow also. Love my gram. The weaker will go into flower room for a small harvest, likely only in 4 to 5 gallons of soil at that point. Updates to the Garden. - The best things that I have added so far has been the bluemat system. The girls in flower are in the best health ive seen so far in my garden. So much so that I will be adding this to my outdoor veggi garden in the spring as well. Anyways that's enough for tonight.
Well I've realized that I've let this page go. And figure I should update for posterity sake of nothing else. Upgraded flower room from hps to led. Qb 120 boards. Plants are loving it. Have 1 auto ( early miss) 1 purple haze. ( Smaller ) And one CBD heavy strain 2/1 ( cbdutch treat) Also have same strain in a small cab under 2 qb120 boards. As always everything is organic. This is day 2 of flower for all
First week of 12/12 is behind us. This is the cab with 2 qb 120s as of last night. Flower room tonight.
