Yada yada lyricism yada yada nicki minaj haters yada yada tupac

  1. There is a difference lyricism and technical lyricism. Technical lyricism is that flashy, Canibus shit. Complex rhyme schemes, internal rhymes, multi-syllabic rhymes, metaphors, entendres, and all that jazz. I enjoy rapping like this to a certain degree. But rapping like you've consumed several dictionaries, doesn't make you a good rapper; It makes you a good technical rapper. True lyricism is about painting a clear picture of…..whatever the fuck you're talking about. Being a rich-ass backpacker, or the most iced-out mothafucka on earth or the “businessman” rapper or whatever. Making me believe in your persona is much more important than how many times you can end a bar with -ation. There are some exceptions and variables to the rule, but that's pretty much it.

If you don't like Nicki Minaj, that's cool. Nothing wrong with that. (I am not a fan of her work either) But don't act like you just looooove Lil' Kim all of a sudden, just because you hate Nicki Minaj. You probably have weird self-esteem issues and don't wanna be a fan of anything popular. Take that faux-contrarian bullshit elsewhere.

If one of your arguments for Tupac being the best rapper ever is “He was a poet” or “He rapped about real shit”, your musical opinion probably means nothing to me. The feeling probably reciprocates, so…whatever

  2. Nikki Minaj is awful, she had some okay shit before she went commercial. Lil Kim is obviously better. Foxy Brown would shit in their cereal though...

As for the rest of your post I don't know what kind of a point you're trying to make but I noticed you used a thesaurus this time :D

  3. so what separates the good from the bad?

dude the whole "true lyricist" thing is wack. not every rapper is out there rappin for himself, but rather for other people. so by your definition, if you don't rap about your persona, then you're not a "true lyricist"? and you make it sound like you can only be one of the two when clearly you can rap about yourself using all that "technical" bru ha ha.

and just because you think it's more important for a rapper to rap about his persona doesn't mean everyone else thinks it is.

  4. Good post. +rep

  5. I like her...figure makes me smile :D :D :D

I'm a fan. Especially of her older mixtape stuff.

    How sick is this?

  10. eh agree kind of, yknow like in the sense of people hating on flocka's, gucci's, soulja's shit etc just because your not lupe fiasco about words doesn't mean your music sucks or its not good etc

And sometimes, that is what it means. And sometimes, it does suck.

    It works both ways.

  12. I think flocka and lupe both bring something to the table. Thats what gets me so annoyed when people say waka flocka sucks and link some aesop rock or lupe fiasco song or some shit. Yeah lupe has more skilled lyrics. No shit. But can he bring the incredible energy in his music that waka can? No. Waka makes music to get you pumped or angry etc etc. There is a time and place for both artist imo. Lyrics will always matter in hip hop. But just b.c. someone isn't rapping the whole dictionary doesn't mean they suck.

  13. I only recently learned who this Nikki was

  14. I don't think it matters. I dont like her music that much at all. She can spit for a girl, but honestly I dont really like how female rappers sound.

  15. I would deposit some sperm into the First Bank of Nickis Twat but her music is wack. Personally I don't like mainstream cause they all sound the same.

  17. Yea it doesn't mean they suck but it's a pretty good sign they aren't gonna be impressive... I don't like to her simple one syllable rhymes of words I learned in elementary school, that's not difficult or impressive in any way at all.

Just because you can't understand Aesop doesn't invalidate him. Read a book or something cause he's a thousand times more talented than Waka fuckin Flocka

I listen to aesop lol. It is like you didn't read my post at all but quoted me to shove your elitist opinion down my throat.

Me: Aesop and Lupe are good, and lyrical skill will always be a factor in hip hop, but I don't think they can bring the energy that waka brings (Then clearly state why I like waka).

You:Just because you can't understand Aesop doesn't invalidate him. Read a book or something cause he's a thousand times more talented than Waka fuckin Flocka.

I never said one was better than the other. Just b.c. aesop is a more talented lyricist doesn't mean I can't enjoy them both. If I am working out or getting ready for a game, I am going to be listening to waka. Waka flocka pumps me up, aesop rock doesnt. If I am chillin at home Ill throw on some lupe or aesop or another rapper with great lyricism.

Just b.c. one artist may technically have more talent doesn't mean I shouldn't listen to them.

  20. This thread is to show all the music elitist that they are nothing but a bunch of fucking snobs. Seriously, if you call yourself a hip hop head I will just assume that you take it in the butt.
