Xeno's Organic Grow 4.0

Discussion in 'Organic Grow Journals' started by Xeno321, Mar 10, 2016.

  1. Good morning GC,:gc_rocks:

This will be my fourth or fifth journal. I have updated a few things.

Genetics: 5 -THC bombs from bomb seeds in flower. 3 - Em dogs from HSO flower (just cut down). 4 - Kush cookies from Barneys farm flower. I have 1 Kush cookies in Veg room, just popped the last seed as well. 3 - MCD X the purps from Sanctuary Gardens in Veg. these got ignored in the flower room for too long and i have been trying to get them to re-veg. for a little over a month now.. :bang:

    Rooms:

    Veg. room 10' w X 12' L 8' h Mylar, tarp 1000 watts
this room is new i ran out of Mylar not much left to do though. Simple 1000 watt electronic ballast with 1000 watt MH conversion bulb. Right now since its not full i have my very first magnetic 400 watt ballast in there and a 8,000 BTU AC. When the room is full, it will be running 1000 watts vertical bulb with 12,000 BTU frigidaire window unit with fresh air intake.

    Flower room 8' 9" w X 16' 6" L 8' 6" h Hidden bookcase entrance, Mylar walls, tarp on floor. 3450 watts
For lighting in this room I have three Gavita 1000 DE E series ballasts and hoods (new models) all daisy chained together into the Gavita EL1 master controller! :yay:I upgraded the exhaust fan on the air exchange to a 400cfpm Can fan original the intake is 220 cfpm. the dehumidifier is 70 lpm unit, the AC is 14,000 btu portable with intake and exhaust, 220 cfpm can fans on both intake and exhaust for AC. Both the exhausts from the room have Phat filter Carbon filters outside in dummy boxes built to match the house.

Medium is Organically Amended no till soil, i only have 12 - 20 gallon fabric pots filled right now i just dumped all my old soil 6 months ago. Although i will be running an equal number of 20 gallon pots with 50/50 coco/perilite with the Ironhead method next month! those constant yields, growth rates, and beautiful plants just make it to hard to ignore Iron!:metal: :weed:
I will also be growing some plants outdoors this year probably all soil, i picked up 6-40 gallon heavy duty fabric pots i'm itching to fill and get some plants in outside!:Love-Plant: That's about it people, i love growing beautiful cannabis plants big yields in 2016 lets get it done here we grow! :volcano:

3 little Em dogs came down a couple days ago, probably a week early but I've got some time constraints right now. And the trichs look good enough to me!

  7. Thanks for stopping by man! I highly recommend the Roots Organics original mix, I'm currently using it as a base for my mix. Much better than pro-mix I must say. But I have a feeling once I start growing with Ironhead's method I'll be making a switch to Coco, for indoors anyway.

  9. I like roots organic as its the only soil I've used for my grows but the last bag I got introduced root aphids into my garden. That and the price of it is a turn off. But the soil itself it great. Maybe I just wasn't going to the right place when it come to price. First bag I bought off Amazon was the original mix for $45 for 1.5 cubic foot. Second bag was there 707 (which had the root aphids) was $44 at the local hydro store for 3 cubic feet. I just can't afford to do that with as much soil I want to make. But I guess it being no till would be a big help. But still I was seeing pro mix online for way cheaper. I've been looking around for promix locally with no luck so i was thinking of just grabbing some bales of peat and some perlite mixing that as the base and amending from there. May I ask how much experience you have with no-till organics? Don't mean to sound rude or to question you I'm just pretty unfamiliar experience wise but knowledge wise I've got a pretty decent understanding of organic processes. I'm looking to make probably between 20-25 gallons of soil. But preferably more. My main containers would be 5 gals for now but I think I'd rather run 10-15 gals for future grows. It just depends how many plants I flower at a time. Once I go perpetual I plan on doing a lot of experimentation to see what works best but I'm leaning more towards probably 2 trees in 10-15 gals in my space or 3/4 Plants that veg a month in 5s. I'll probably play with sog for a run to how I like it but I'm not big on cramming my space like that so that'll be probably done after I try it. I'd rather not try to take care of 12-14 plants in the little space I have. Sorry to ramble on your thread. Btw your emdogs look tasty.

  10. I think it's been 4 years I am in no way a "master" of Organics.

I'm sure you already have but read through all the threads pinned at the top of the Organic growing section. Jerry is the man when it comes to No till. There is nothing wrong with pro mix or getting a bale of peat and Coarse perilite and doing it yourself. I don't think I've ever gotten pests from pro mix only fox farms.. One thing I would caution is make sure your mix has plenty of aeration, the roots Organics mix is a good example of how fluffy it should be.

You should really look for a hydro store or a Home Depot Lowes. ordering soil base for those prices isn't very cost effective. I get the original 1.5 cf bags for 20$ at a local place, they also carry sunshine # 4 mix bales for 25-30$ shipping heavy stuff costs a lot of money. If online ordering is all you can do someone just gave me a great site that's cheaper than Amazon it's Growershouse.com.
