Xenon hid grow lighting??? Questions:

    i currently have 8000k HID's in my prelude (honda car if your dumb), and it produces and amazingly bright white light with blueish tint.....

    and i know that around the 2-3k range the bulbs are actually YELLOW




    SO MY QUESTION IS WOULDNT THIS MEAN FAT FAT FAT FAT BUDS???


    i tried a google search with no luck...

    i asked for maybe pics of grows using hid's or even advice about it... not your myspace photos

    You're really hostile, especially for someone coming here and asking questions.

    Makes me not even want to answer your question.

    If you want fat fat fat buds, use HPS/MH HID. Not sure about HID xenon lights, but to wire up a ballast and get enough lights to have sufficient output will probably run the cost, if not more, of an HPS system.

    Also;

    "Xenon headlamp bulbs produce between 2,800 and 3,000 lumens from 42 watts of electrical power"

    So, 66 - 72 lumens/watt.

    CFLs at my local hydroshop put out 1,600 lumens per 23 watts...

    So, 70 lumens/watt.

    A 400 watt HPS puts out 38,000 lumens...

    So, 95 lumens/watt.

    Did you ever get to that grow?

    I was thinking the same thing.

    Maybe using 6-8k for veg and 3k for flowering.

    Ill try it and let you know if your still interested.

    My lights are on there way.
