Xbox Minecraft

  1. So guys, whats up? What do you guys think would improve Minecraft for Xbox 360?

    I think:
A round 3000x3000 map, instead of the flat 1000x1000, how would this be implemented well as a programmer all you have to do is change the algorithm that finds the array for the close proximity for vision and where you are to go back to -1500 when it reaches 1500. So it is easily possible, just to keep so you can run from one side to the other, and see the first side, and also to stop maps that just end. It is easily possible.

I think that is all I can say, well for future argument sake, the Xbox should be easily handling a 5000x5000x1000 map, but the 1000x1000x512 is to make it easier for the algorithms to handle, which should be no problem with just a better algorithm.

Bigger servers, allow people to buy a Pandaboard and just set up a Minecraft Xbox server and sell them for $250ish. This by my math can handle a server of about 64 people, and with good internet more. Just set up a Java Runtime so it can be put on any system when you slap on some Linux, and anyone with an old computer can do it, or set the Pandaboard up with a LXDE UI and just have it with a built in Java Runtime.

I think these would make the game awesome, also feel free to talk about all Indie Games, I prefer Indie Games as they continually update, rather then having to re-buy it every year like with Call of Duty.

  2. I think that's too much work to play an outdated version of the game. And as for the map size, there's nothing they can do about it unless you want limitations on the updates. The xbox just can't handle an infinite world.

  3. Yes it can, low spec PCs can handle it, especially when Java is heavier then an executable C++ file. If old PCs can handle a 30000 x 30000 x 1024, I think that the Xbox can handle a bigger world. PS. It's not infinite, it just keeps a certain amount in the RAM, and the rest on hard drive, the Xbox could do that, but they didn't do that because of their algorithms. Remember they're two different programming languages, the algorithms have to be rewritten, and they were too lazy to write a good one.
