WTF is going on here? My plant looked normal and then I turned it and saw this bud with shrivled up pistils... Is this normal...the other pic is from another bud about 6 inches away. These pics are off the same plant..its ATF: and they been in Flower for 3weeks.
is the shriviled nug closer than the rest to the light? the rest of the buds look great, so i wouldn't stress it unless there's any discoloration accompanyng it.
i just got a big bag of some heady blueberry diesel and it seemed like the tips of the colas i got had no hairs on it, but the rest of the buds did..... maybe something similar happened to this guys grow....either way it was still heady and dripping with crystals so i was happy they look great....i wouldnt worry too much
It could just be a weird nug, ive seen alot of weird things on plants but in the end they turn out alright... Is this a clone or from seed? Was it healthy growing up and is this the first thing gone wrong? Edit: Do you spray your plants with water? Maybe had some excess on it and it wouldnt dry cause its furthest from the light, and rotted a bit... Just an idea
My fan is about 3 feet away from this plant., But the other bud is about the same distance. And there is another plant between it and the fan, and it has no damage. I stopped foliar feeding once the first signs of buds appeared, about 2 weeks ago. This just showed up yesterday. These plants were grown from Clone, they have been healthy since day 1.
Did they turn orange or just dissapear? I had pistols turn orange and "lay down" when one of my plants hermied and polinated them...
Yes the hairs did turn amber, and shrivel, its like its almost ready for harvest, but that plant has another 3 1/2 weeks. I do not see any sign of a male flower on the plant. Or any of the plants for that matter.... BTW they haven't been stressed at all, and all are cloned from known females.
its probably just that the lesser bud is not as developed yet. The maturity of the plants is greatest at the top colas, and usually decreases as it goes wider and lower on the plant. However, this is mostly caused becuase the lights are closest to the main colas. You could fix this by putting more lights around the side length of the plant.
The only reason i mentioned the fan was because i have had that SAME problem in the past. I only found it on a few flowers that generally were nearest to a fan (usually the fan was a larger fan) also some buds near flowers that had damaged pistols were fine, so i never really figured out what the problem was. I moved my fans around a bit and have moved onto some different breeds, but fan seemed to be the problem as far as i could see, i haven't seen it since Weird weird weird
I have a feeling that is what is causing the problem. I've noticed 2 other flowers with the same problem. On another plant. The one between the pictured plant and the fan. It is a large fan, also there is a large box fan blowing in the same direction on the floor. I'm going to try and rearrange my fans (further from plants) and see if the problem goes away. I run my fans on med speed...If I move them back, should I move to high, or should I have it on low anyway? This is a 4x8 and its hard to get air in the back corner. I attached a crappy diagram of my flower area. Not exactly to scale or as many plants I wish!! Its enough to get the Idea.
pistils turning amber doesnt mean its ready for harvest. The buds clearly have way more to go, only judge by the trichomes. and if you have to, if this bud is ready before the other, you can trim it off early, nothing bad will happen. If you do it properly, you could even get some more bud growth on the rest of the plant because it has less places to use energy.
