I have tryed and tryed and nothing. Ok let me explain my problem. I have used the paper towel method to germinate. I get my root tip. I plant them I Miracle Grow mousture control. In plastic cups with drainage holes. I wet the soil let drain. Poke a hole about a half inch deep or less. Put sprout in. I then cover the cup with clingwrap with holes being held by a rubber band. Placed in a dark place....... And then I get nothing. What am I doing wrong. This is the 3rd failed attempt. I have been more and more carefull. Using twizzers rather than touching with fingers. I plant root tip down. I dont water after I plant heard u werent supposed to. I have a really nice setup. I have been anticipating accually growing something. So far I am the sprout king. I have that part pretty mastered as far as the right ammount of heat to get them going. So yeah what am I doing wrong to get to fully germinated plants? Aby advice? Hit me up.
THIS MUST BE YOUR FIRST GROW EVER CAUSE WHAT YOU ARE DOING WRONG IS IN WHAT YOU WROTE ". Placed in a dark place....... " AFTER THEY ARE SPROUTED YOU NEVER PUT IN A DARK PLACE REMEMBER YOU GOT TO MIMIC NATURE . SO OK AFTER THEY ARE SPROUTED PUT THEM IN A "WARM PLACE" WITH A LIGHT ON TOP SO THE SEEDLING WILL WORK ITS WAY TO THE WARM WHICH WILL BE ABOVE HENCE MIMICING NATURE THE SUN. I HOPE THIS HELPS GOODLUCK
After they sprout and you put them in a cup with soil.. You then put them under your lights.. (Not back in a dark place with clingwrap...)
Yes you need cling wrap cause the seedlings need humidity for the seedling not to dry out but you must be carful with the cling wrap so the seedling dosent wilt and die make sure it dosent get to hot
So everything else is ok. Im useing 6 26 watt cfl's at 6500k. I have been reading alot about mixing the spectrum with 5000k and 2700k. Is this more advantagous? Or just rumor? Let me know
i am using cfls also with great results for veg use 5000 - 6500k which is daylight rating on the bulb until your ready to go into 12\12 or flowering or budding what ever you want to call it lol when you go into flowering u want to use soft white which is 2700k. now how many plants are you doing as i need to know this so u use the right amount to grow them properly but it goes as follows the first plant you need atleast 100 wats total for it and the bulbs are only usually 23w "true rating" not the compared rating and 50w for the rest so if you grow 3 plants youll need 200w total or about 10 bulbs.
it doesnt hurt to throw in a LED buld daylight as it pushes the purest 6500k blue spectrum for growth check my hydro im using both with great growth factors
what are you using for reflection? I have been experimenting with space blankets. They are made of Mylar, so I'm guessing it has the same reflective properties. What hydro system? I want to use a drip system for veg and ebb and flow for flower. Would be easy to just bring the grow cubes to the flower room and burry in the hydroton
Im so proud. Im got home and looked in my growbox and my sprout is showing a bit. Im so excited it worked!!!!!! When I wrote this thread I was at work wondering why all the attemps had failed. In my growbox tho I had done an experiment. I did everything the same but I put it under lights. It took in 3 days. Its barely about to break the surfice. Im so proud I hope its a girl.
