Wrong temps....

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by tokejoke, May 6, 2020.

  1. Just throwing this out there for anyone still learning about edibles. Had a major brain fart the other day. I made a batch of brownies with butter I made from 7g of flower. Put 5g worth of butter in the brownies and put them in the oven for 27mins @350..... the whole batch was bunk....trying to figure out what happened I remembered you cant bake anything infused over 315-325 as that's the temp thc evaporates at. Just to make sure that's what went wrong I took the remaining butter I made and put it on a bagel with cream cheese the next morning, it worked like it should on the bagel. Remember Temps are everything when infusing!

  2. When you bake something the internal temperature of your baked goods or meat does not reach the oven temperature. For instance you cook chicken at 350F, but it's done with an internal temp of 165F. I don't know why your brownies didn't work unless you made so many the dose per brownie was too low. Glad to hear it worked on a bagel. Also, did you decarb? If you didn't I don't know why the butter worked and the brownie didn't.

  3. Yes I decarbed 240 for 40 mins, everything was the same as always except I would normally put it in for a few mins longer at 325degrees, this was the first time since I first started baking edibles that I got a bunk batch (5years ago) the worst part was I did them for my brother who never had an edible and they didn't work....
