Writing Down Memories For The Future?

Discussion in 'General' started by SlightlyStonedSD, Sep 4, 2014.

  1. I'm 26 and I often get the feeling I should write more stuff down so I will have a hard copy in case I lose my memories for any reason (disease, accident, bong). I believe our memories are 99% of what make us unique. Without them you are just a living body with no personality.

I don't know what's stopping me. Maybe because something spectacular hasn't happened. Or maybe it seems like a diary, and society ingrained in me that a boy isn't "supposed" to have a diary of events.

It's not like I have to start each entry with "dear diary..." lol!

What do you blades think? Do you already have something like this?...

I keep a journal, although I'm not super-diligent about it.  (It's okay for a guy to keep a journal, just not a diary lol ).  I really wish I'd kept one in my younger years.  I often wonder what the hell I was thinking back then.

Another nice thing is to keep photographs of people and places that matter to you, because nothing is permanent.

It can be hard to write when it seems like nothing is going on, but really something is always going on - you're thinking and feeling things, and things are going on in the world.  The question is are you willing to write about it.

  3. You don't have to do it daily, mine is mainly my weekend adventures, unless something outta the ordinary has happened.

  4. All my shit is in my head...That way it doesn't exist when I'm old and senile and can't remember.

  5. Fuck society, if you want a diary where you can look back at when you're 60+ and remember and relive all those memories then you go do that.

  6. Diaries are gay
