Wrapping Up My Last Purchases...help Lol

    Ok well, I am almost done finishing my last purchases to begin growing...

    Im looking for:

    -pH Meter
    -pH Meter calibration + cleaning solution
    -Oscillating Fan
    -Timer (to automatically turn on/off my grow lights)
    -PH up & down

    pH Meter

    For the pH meter, I've been looking at the Bluelab Truncheon pH meter.

    Yes, I know it is kinda expensive but I rather get something thats of quality and that it is reliable, accurate and long lasting then buying something that cost 20 dollars of of ebay that will last me about 3 months. I'm thinking of buying it because I heard it's one of the best pH meters in the world so yea.

    I'm thinking of buying it because I'm thinking its best to buy the same calibration/cleaning kits from the same company that I'm buying the pH meter from? (is it necessary?)

    Oscillating Fan

    I'm planning on getting a small fan because for now, i'm only planning to grow one plant. This is the one i'm looking at so far...

    Timer (to automatically turn on/off my grow lights)

    To tell you the truth, I am not sure. I wont be running more than 350 watts at a time with lighting since im only going to be using CFL's for now. I just want a reliable, easy to use, long lasting timer that will do the job accurately.

    PH Up & Down

    Not sure either. What do you guys recommend, I dont want to get anything that will hurt my plants.

    Well again, all the items I mentioned above doesnt necessarily mean I'm going to buy them. I would appreciate any input on whether the items I got are good and any recommendations on anything else and of course what pH up/down and timer to get.

    Go with the $20 digital timers you see at all the online hydro shops. The intermatic timers (with the plastic tabs) will work just fine too but arent easy to set to exact times. Go with at least 15amp rating with a grounded connection (three prong). Walmart has them for $7 or so.

    If you are growing in hydro you definitely need ph up and down. Soil will need it as well. Just go with the GH two pack.

    Your meter selections are good but you can certainly find cheaper alternatives. And if you are growing in soil the truncheons won't help you since they are for hydro, not soil.

    Truncheons are for hydro only? I though pH meters are universal and can be used for both soil and hydro?
