If e=mc2 states that nothing will go faster than the speed of light and to break that speed limit is to stop progressing in time and the only way to break that is a nuclear detonation because all the energy applied IE forward force was being turned into mass as opposed to speed? .. couldn't it be said that a nuke blast creates a point that simply stops progressing in time .. and is torn out from the fabric of space time thus produceing the blast? So perhaps an explosion is merely a side effect of stopping a small amount of matter from progressing through time to the point where it is torn from the very fabric of space time? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7h7tyQlpda4&feature=grec]YouTube - Einstein's Relativity: The Famous Equation E=mc2[/ame] that's what this seems to be saying without realizing it so perhaps in order to travel through time all we need to do is anchor something to a bit of matter that is being ripped from space time…and perhaps that's where the matter that was converted to energy went? Meaning that pure energy is or is a side effect of a break in the fabric of space time? And perhaps a huge amount of object that has left space time would be a explanation of a black hole
Perhaps if a civilization figured out a way to anchor a world to a mass of particles that was torn from time … wow that's a crazy ass doomsday device now that I think about it
cuz the world would then.. while perhaps not destroyed per se.. is now isolated from the rest of space time? maybe they would encounter a different universe? or maybe.. they would be thrust into an "empty space and expand outward in the vacuum ...perhaps creating a whole new material universe (it would create alot of mass .. seeing as we need to get it up to a huge speed to get to where the amount of energy applied to the molecules is going straight to mass) .. thus the big bang could be the entrance of matter from some other place.. perhaps the dying flash of some war where both sides have discovered the means of distroying their enemies from the space time stream completely? put that in your pipe and smoke it..
you see thats the thing .. makeing it move faster isnt possible through conventional means, IE any sort of outside force pushing it along.. in particle accelerators the faster they go the more the energy being used to make them faster is turned into mass
Where to start, where to start... e=mc^2 relates energy and mass by the proportion c^2. The prohibition on going faster than light comes from the fact that a tenuously-related piece of math governing time dilation and length contraction stops having real answers at velocities greater than c, because when that happens you begin getting answers involving either complex numbers or which are simply undefined. I'm really not that clear what you're getting at with the bit about the nukes, but a nuclear explosion has little to do with time dilation. A nuclear bomb is a very crude way to convert some matter - particularly unstable isotopes of certain elements - into energy via nuclear reactions. The sheer violence of an atomic explosion is due to the fact that the value c^2 in e=mc^2 is a fucking ENORMOUS number. Let's take an example. Say one pineapple weighs about a single kilogram. If we take that mass and plug it into the equation to find out the amount of energy that makes up that pineapple, we gete = 1kg x (300,000,000 m/s)^2 = 90,000,000,000,000 kg*m/s That's 90 trillion Joules. The bomb dropped on Hiroshima didn't put out as much energy! There's a lot of energy tucked away in matter. It was just a good thing for everybody that the Hiroshima bomb was so inefficient, because if it converted anywhere near the total mass of the bomb into energy, well, at the very least Japan would be a cinder. The matter that gets converted into energy "goes into" being an explosion. Hence why the Sun is constantly losing mass proportionate to the amount of energy it puts out...
For that part, every machine is inefficient because it is impossible to ever get to a point where we will get 100% out of what we put in. If I remember correctly, cars are about 30% efficient in the amount of energy it uses (as in, converts gas into usable energy to push the car forward). Hell if we could solve why most of the energy we put in is turned to heat and instead used as work, a lot of problems would be solved...

the problem isnt that we dont know what happens.... the heat comes from energy that is collected and/or used, but not the desired output. for example, lets consider the piston of an automobile engine (the workhorse in your car) the pressure created is what gives you the power to drive, but the side effect of the pressure and the friction (there's even friction against the oil particles ) is heat.
the things with matter going at the speed of light is that when matter goes at c then it turns into light!
In the video it said that anything that we create, just like in the video it said that the particle accelerator (or whatever the fuck it is), anything that humans try to do to accelerate it, just makes it heavier, so it can't get faster than the speed of light. My mind feels like everything is stopped and I understand the universe when I took a hit of DMT before, maybe that's what scientist need to start using so they can use their knowledge/formulas (which is/are alot better than mine) and maybe figure out how to travel faster than the speed of light
If you are beaming matter apart you will always have a negative entropy part of the energy you put in goes into breaking the bonds of the molecule add on top of that friction and most of the energy is out the door... Theoretically if we could break down gas for combustion and then use the reminants to form bonds to contain the energy we could reharvest this compound to further extract the energy to create an overall neutral system but theory and reality our two seperate entities
I've also read/seen where it could be possible to bend and warp the space fabric to expand in front of some spaceship and contract behind it. Scientists believe that this could propel matter faster than the speed of light. There's also the theory of instead of going "as the crow flies" from A to B. It might be possible to take a flat plane of space fabric and bend it over itself to create a much shorter route between A and B. This seems similar to traveling in worm holes, which may be a link between galaxies and maybe even universes. I'm envious of the people that will get to do that.
