Would you recommend drying the whole plant vs the plant in parts?

Discussion in 'Harvesting and Processing Marijuana' started by the123321, Jun 4, 2020.

  1. I have read that different people do different things. I would likely dry 2 auto plants at 1 time in a 2x2x4 drying tent. Would you recommend hanging the whole plant in 1 part or divide it into lots of parts and hang the parts on the twine in the tent?

  2. I have settled in clipping off main branches and hang drying the entire branch as it stops the buds from drying too rapidly. It also makes dry trimming much easier.

I also store many buds still attached to dried upper limbs as the dankness and original flowering smells come back.

Of course there are loads of different ways to dry, cure after you decide how you plan to harvest.

I also have 2 HerbsNow units that I dry the clipped product in then of course jar cure over the next month or so b

  3. After the plant is taken down there's no further moisture movement along the branches so there's no advantage to hanging the whole plant other than it being simpler to hang as one piece. If you wet trim it's easier to clip off the branches to trim.

  4. should you have ever done this task before then the obvious is true ...
    1:Harvest
    2:Trim
    3:Hang

if theirs another less painful ...pass it on

  5. What I did, (its been a while), Pull plant, rinse dirt (whatever) off roots, put roots in a plastic bag, usually a grocery store bag is big enough, twist tie, then hang. Yeah yeah, I know, the book I use says leaving roots attached serves no purpose, , , , Takes a bit longer to dry, but it does not go parched dry in a heartbeat.

  6. Thanks. I think I will try doing the whole plant on there.
