I was reading another thread and got an idea, so I decided to make this. If you could be hooked up to a machine that would put you into a dream state for the rest of your life would you? You would have full control over your dreams. Meaning you could make yourself have the life you wished you had in real life. You could have supermodel significant others, million dollar houses, gourmet food, and all the weed you could smoke, but it would all be a lie. Would you?
nah. a dream is a dream especially if i know im dreaming. there would be no point for me to be alive then if i was continuously sleeping and not out there in the real world trying to do my thang. dreams are dreams for a reason. they are there so you can fulfill them. FAKE WEED. no way. then how are there gonna be wake and bakes?! NOOOOOOO!!
For sure I would. I'm not convinced that what we are in now is true reality... EDIT:Assuming things worked the same. Like that the dream weed got you high and you went to the bathroom after you ate.
SOmetimes i wonder if im actually awake, or if we are actually in reality. Lucid dreams are cool. tough one.
So basically the red vs. the blue pill? I would never live a lie, no matter how blissfull it is.. I'd chose reality and make the best of it.. I think that if I choose to live the dream, in the end I wouldn't be satisfied with the way my life turned out.. knowing it was all fake.. I mean, how would you feel if your life was just a big happy fat lie?
probably happy.... i think it all depends on what kinda person u are. if i coud go to sleep in about 10 years i would otherwise, prolly not
You misinterepted what I said. The dream state that you would be in, would basically just be another reality. Food would still taste like food, weed would still smoke like weed, sex would still feel like sex, you would still go to sleep and wake up just like you do everyday, except in this world, everything you have ever wished for would become true.
Excellent point. There is no way in knowing that the reality we feel right now is actually real. We could all be hooked up to dream machines right now at this very moment.
we could, but i just aint buyin' that. its very interesting to think about, if you say everything is the same and feelings are still feelings, it makes it real tough. a close call, but ill take the life im living now
Everything you feel, smell, touch, taste is nothing more than static impulses being sent to receptors in the brain. Just because you feel something, does not make it real. Whos to say the static impulses we feel arent just some computer program that tells us what is hot, what tastes sour, what smells bad, what looks beautiful, etc. Its an interesting concept to think about.
fuck yea!! if i could make an ideal life in a dream state, it wouldnt be any different than real life.. cuz 90% of the time when your dreaming you act/feel as if its real anyway... and reality is just your consciousness anyway, without it reality ceases to exist, and your dreams are a conscious thought, so imo a dream and reality are kind of the same thing, except the shit in ur waking state remains constant, and other people dont experience your dreams (since everyone experiences "reality") and only a fraction of time is spent dreaming, so thats the only thing that makes it only a dream really, other than u know, u gotta eat n what not in real life.. but if your dream was constant like reality is, it would basically become reality and as far as "living a lie".. how do you know that when you die your not gonna "wakeup" as yourself somewhere else and think 'man that was a really stupid dream" and then go on living as yourself where a day is really 80 years in time.... hey, ya never know

I would like to dream, but I dont know if I would want to dream forever. That would be like being stoned forever. After a while, it will lose its luster
