Ok so i was thinking about how christian religion and such is so prevalent in America. Now what if muslims did all the stuff they do? Like opening a masque near the school for students? like a seminary Or putting up a muslim evangelistic billboard like there is on the freeway near my exit? How bout if they put up a 50 ft statue of their god like some people have done in a town about 45 mins away from me. What if they started up a muslim private school? What if they had their own tv channel? What if they wore a small quran on a chain around their neck? What if they got muslim spiritual tatoos? I mean if any of those things happened the people in america would shit their fucking pants and burn the town down but why is it acceptable to shove catholicism, christianity, mormonism, etc in everyone's faces and then get angry when they don't want to hear it? What do you think is it a fucked up double standard or am i crazy?
I did expect people here to be alot more tolerant than the people i deal with on a daily basis. If i read this list to your average american do you think they'd be upset or ok with it? and would they still have those same feelings if it was their religion doing those things?
If people would get mad about those things more than the do with Christians then definately. Do you really think people would get mad if they opened a Muslim school? We have plenty of those here. I think people would only get mad about the statue thing and the billboards, and it's highly unlikely that Muslims would build a statue of their God.

I'd get mad at the muslims who planned it, financed it, and carried it out, and I'd be opposed to anyone supporting those people, but I wouldn't get mad at muslims in general. It's the same with some people from Europe who think all Americans are fat idiots, or white people who think all black people are criminals, or black people who think all white people are racist oppressors. The negative qualities you attach to a group of people, consciously and subconsciously, aren't all there is to them.

I used the word god because it's the most identifiable and covers the whole subject. What i'm asking is if you asked your average american if those things would bother them i bet the majority would respond negatively hell some would probably get violent. We need people to learn religious tolerance and understand other cultures and appreciate what they bring to the table.
I don't think most Americans would get violent at the idea of Muslims having their own TV channel, their own private schools (since those do exist), carrying a small quran around, etc. All those things you listed seem perfectly fine to me, even the billboard thing as long as they paid for it. And muslims wouldn't build a statue of God, it's directly against their religion.
Few things: There are already Muslim schools and TV shows in America, just as there are Jewish ones. Idolatry is haram (forbidden) in Islam, and Allah (God) is not considered as a simple physical form the human mind can fabricate, so no statues would ever be built. Tattoos are also widely regarded within the Muslim community to be haram. Although there are some xenophobic crazy people in America, I think the majority of Americans are very respectful and accepting and don't have a problem with it.
Yes i know they don't make statues or anything to represent their god. I guess it's where i live then, I've asked a few of my friends parents and other people what they would think about the things i listed above and almost every single person was strongly against it. I think it's probably the older generations who have a problem the current generation has come a long way as far as being judgemental and bias. weird.
This is America god damn it. We have separation of church and state god damn it... That's why our presidents are Christian. Elect an atheist? What are you fucking crazy? I personally do not care what the Muslims do as long as it's not hurting anybody.

We elected a president that has Muslim ancestry. We've never had a Jewish president, or even vice-president. Forget about an atheist, he or she couldn't get elected if they ran for dog catcher. I think that the Islamophobia in America charges are bogus, for the most part.
I personally think, and I admit my thoughts come with minimal research... that Islam is only the most extreme religion because it's followers are generally lower on the income scale. I could be wrong though.
