would taping up a fire alarm work?

Do yourself a favor and go outside when you smoke.

 

I would listen to rasta but i made you a little drawing if you are interested.
I wouldnt leave it on all the time, what if their was a fire.

here's what you do simple really
duct tape a large bowl upside down over the smoke detector. Make sure the duct tape is tight.

 

That might not be smart, it could be a temperature alarm, what if that bowl collects rising heat in the room?

edit: wait rising heat in the room, come on, whats the temp going to go up 4 degrees? probably not.

 

no this is the best way to do it.
Take the battery out then put a quater back into its place.
then it should shut completly

But i wouldnt shut my smoke detector off completely its there for a reason, your call

The only solution to this problem is, quite simply, an EMP. That will solve everything.

 

If you cant get ahold of one of those a nuclear bomb should suffice.

 

bad idea totally. i know from experience that my fire alarm in my dorm room is monitored by a computer system. covering up the alarm (giving it no airflow) will trigger the computer and you will have ra's knocking at you door within mins. they will then probably smell what you just did. do not take it apart either...as that sends a message to the computer and the same thing will happen.

the funny thing is i smoke all the time in my room. i dont cover up the alarm nor do i take it apart. i just stand by the window with my bowl and blow the smoke out the window. 90% of the smoke goes out and the little that doesnt isnt enough to set the alarm off. it just smells a little. its up to you...dont know if i'd recommend this either tho. i would def not smoke blunts or joints...way too much smoke.

i dont know how ur school works...so do what you want...but that is advise from my own experience on dorm room fire alarms.

 

Well I usually just drape a shirt over the fire alarm and smoke by the window, but it could be different in your case.

 

From my experience, using a simple sock will do the trick.
