Would mold be killed off in the process of making badder?

    Hi everyone,

I guess I have sort of a strange question. I don’t know anything about the extraction process of creating concentrates. And, I’m wondering if the flower used for extraction had mold, would that mold be killed off during the process of turning it into badder?

The reason I ask is that I purchased some badder at a cannabis craft market from a local vendor. The strain is Hi Octane. I’ve never purchased concentrates from that vendor before because I don’t use a lot of them, but I have had this guy’s flower before and it has been very good. Anyway, I’ve tried the concentrate twice and to me, it really has like a moldy taste. It doesn’t smell like mold, but has a mold-like taste to it.

I’m not familiar with that strain, so perhaps that’s just how the strain tastes, especially when concentrated? Or, could it be mold? And, if it is mold, or was originally moldy flower, would that be killed off or would it still be unsafe to use? Maybe Hi Octane strain tastes like that? (Although, I’ve never had a strain that tasted like mold before.)

I don’t want to waste it and throw it away if it’s okay, but I certainly don’t want to get sick, either. Im just not sure if it’s just me or there is actually something off. I tried to reach the vendor, to no avail. And, who knows if they’d actually come clean if there was an issue.

    TIA for any response!

  2. I doubt there's really a problem here, but if you have doubts about the concentrate why risk it?

  3. A) I don’t like to waste. B) I’m not wealthy enough to just toss something out, if there’s a possibility it’s still good.

  4. Mold lives in space sub zero temps. a UVC lamp emits a deadly o zone which is PH14 which kills fungi
