worried about my seedlings.

  1. I wet my seedlings' soil when I potted it, while the seeds were germinating. I planted the germinated seeds and put the lights on to keep the temperature warm enough.. This was yesterday and now the soil's real dry til about 3" down. Should I add a little water or just wait for it to sprout despite it being pretty dry ?

  2. have you got them in a propagator? if not ,you should have..
if you do add water (i would) make sure that the water is warm

  3. maybe use a water bottle to lightly spray the top of the soil?

  4. Did you cover the pots with anything? If not, you should re-moisten the soil a little bit, and then cover the pots with a plastic sandwich bag or something, to keep moisture in until the seeds sprout. Also, how hot is it in your box? And when you say you wet the soil, what exactly did you do?

The general procedure is to pour water into the soil until it starts to drip out of the drainage holes in the bottom, then make a small depression about an inch deep and place the seed inside. Then cover with a little bit of loose soil, and cover the whole thing with a plastic bag. I've done it this way, and have never had a problem with the soil drying out...
