Worm Castings/How Much ?

  1. When adding to your mix, what ratio do you use ? How much per gal. of soil ? Have no directions on the bag.

  2. I would usually use worm castings as 1/4 of my soil. The good thing about them is you can't really burn your plants with them. They are great for germination and young plants too.

  3. He's right. 25% is optimal, but at least 10% and keep it close to the root ball. If you ever pulled up the roots on a harvested plant, you will see they really don't spread very far. Unlike some ferts which can burn, I would try to keep the castings contained within the confines of the projected root system of the plant, so it is actually touching the main roots.
