Working under the table?

Discussion in 'General' started by Cplus, Jan 19, 2016.

  1. Can I put the cash I make in the bank without the government questioning it when it comes time to do taxes? Or will the see my account and wonder where the money came from?

  2. There are millions of illegal immigrants who work under the table and the government does not give a damn. So i think you will be fine. My friend got paid under the table and nothing happened.

  3. So I got nothing to worry about with putting it in the bank?

  4. I think any deposits over 10k wether cash or check are required by the bank to be reported to the feds.

  5. My bank ( B of A in Cali) told me they are required to report every transaction over $2k USD to the fed. Not sure how this translates for your situation or if this employee had the brain cells or experience to be providing this info.

    Best of luck,

    Gavin

Correct although the amount may vary depending on where you are and what bank you are with.

If you are making a couple hundred bucks on the side, no one is going to care.

You start pulling in enough money to put you in a new tax bracket, you may have an issue.

  7. why you should get a safe.

Obama care is ass raping my taxes, wish I got under the table.

  8. Weird. My taxes went down with obama care, but I already had insurance. The rate hikes on my insurance slowed slightly as well. Self employed if that matters.

  9. Lol. Love the brain cells comment.

  10. The only people who got hit with any sort of tax hike for Obamacare are those who didn't get insurance by the deadline. Aside from that it didn't change a thing with regards to income tax. I get raped anyways because I'm in a high tax bracket.

I'm generally opposed to under the table work because everyone should pay their fair share of taxes.

  11. You spelled "fine" wrong.

  12. One word, safe.

Get a safe and be careful. If caught you can get a hefty fine.

And if someone asks you to open your "books" to them, basically tell them to koff. No paper trail no problem

  13. I know it's really a fine, but the SCOTUS has ruled it isn't, so legally it's not. Bullshit, I know, but it is what it is.

  14. I work under the table.. lol

More like.. I run a small computer repair business without being registered.

99% of our taxes are wasted on giant corporations, deep sea oil drilling operations, military intervention in the middle east, the war on drugs, etc. So I don't really feel guilty about it, either. The lower class is the least to benefit from paying taxes, so why should we? Plus.. I live about 3 times below what one could consider the poverty line.

  15. Not true at all re: spending:

  16. I believe that they have tax auditors in casinos in case somebody wins a jackpot, they better have a SS# and pay thier fair share of that jackpot.

  17. Taxes are theft.

Coty's boss walked into the room. He looked around, but did not see any sign of Coty.

    "Coty?" he asked.

"I'm over here" answered coty. The boss looked around, but did not see a thing.

    "Where?" he asked

"Here, under the table" answered Coty. The boss walked over to the table and saw Coty sitting under it.

" What are you doing under there?" asked the boss.

    "Working!" answered Coty.

"Oh for fucks sake you incompitant buffoon get the fuck outta there before I fire your sorry ass!"

  19. Taxes are a necessary evil in a modern civilized society. If you think they are theft then you're free to unplug from the Internet (which was first created with tax dollars) and move into the woods to live off the land, since taxes pay for the roads and train tracks that bring you food and other items. Oh and don't ever go to a hospital; they get tax dollars too. If you get mugged or your home robbed better not call the police either.

It's cute and trendy to say 'taxes are theft' but they are needed. I don't like paying them either, and the tax code certainly needs massive reform, but there is no trite and simple answer.

  20. Agreed, I get fucked by taxes too, I work 50 hour weeks, every two weeks 1/4 of my check goes to taxes. The younger you are the no dependents the govt will tear you a new ass hole with no kiss at the end.
