Working Too Much?

    I don't want this post to sound whiny but I'm afraid that's how it is going to come across.

    Basically, I just finished a semester of 20 hours - that's a ridiculous amount for any college student. But to add onto that, I was working weekends the whole Fall Term. Add homework to that and my life was pretty consumed by work. I hardly went out.

    I also finished school with a cumulative 3.9 GPA but feel like I haven't accomplished anything.

    Winter break started two weeks ago and I thought I was finally gonna catch up on some lazy time. Yet, I haven't had a day off since break began. Because I'm in retail and the store is low on staff, I'm working everyday starting at 8 in the morning. I'm used to going to bed at 3 AM and waking up at 11 AM. Now I'm waking up at 7 AM and falling asleep at 9 PM.

    My shifts range anywhere from 8 to 10 hours. I feel pretty exhausted. Christmas is my first actual day off.

    But now that I got time to spend, I'm bored and exhausted. I don't know what to do with myself. I already have a little bit of depression issues but, with all this added stress, I feel almost dead inside. I also get these bouts of bad anxiety. Instead of going out with friends, I'm falling asleep on the couch. It's not even that I'm "sleep" tired, I just am so restless that I don't know what to do and I work myself into sleep -- if that makes any sense.

    This sucks really bad.

    What's wrong with me? Is it just that I'm too burned out? Have any other blades experienced this?

    Not really, I'm earning minimum wage and I just spent all of last week's paycheck on Christmas presents.

    Sounds like you need to go do somthing you love to do instead of sleeping/ working a shitty job.

    find a new job, man. i push carts around at home depot and i make $8.25/hr. it really sucks that we struggle just to make ends meet in a society where work or thorough education to get a decent future income is necessary. we shouldn't even be living according to a monetary system that shortens the lifespan of every human who isn't of the upper class

    8.25/hr is minimum wage.

    I've got two months left in this job and then I'm moving for an internship I got in California.
