Working for the city = drug test?

  1. My dad suggested a job working for the city for me, they have good regular hours and days off as well as holidays off. I'm not looking at it as a career though, I already planned to go to a 1 year college program for something else.

I assume the city would drug test though what do you all think? I was probably gonna do a simple minimum wage type of job until I finish that program which isn't terrible but I'm sure the city would pay more although I doubt they're as flexible as a minimum wage job, but never know, what do you all think?

  2. Fuck yeah City workers get drug tested if you live in the US.

  5. Well everybody is really when you think about it, unless you're the government and print your own.

difference is everyone else's money comes from voluntary changing hands, not through force.

  7. True that came to mind after I posted it, if you're self employed the customer is still your boss. Taxes everybody has to pay though, I don't mind employing the people checking water meters or driving the garbage truck so I don't think about it that way, but yeah your right I got my own views about police & the prison system.

  8. Working for the city or ANY government job that has manual labor - modern day slave conditions.

If you need the money and this is your only option... by all means... but know what you're getting into ahead of time.
