That one kid, with the cutless lost his job at circuit city i beleive over a failed dt, circuit city and best buy are pretty much the same thing, might even be owned by the same company. sorry i cant offer too much help

 

yea BestBuy drug tests... i went there on a job interview and they said i had to take one... but i never got that far cuz they never called me back.

 

What I want to know is why Best Buy needs to drug test anyway? I can see if
you're a surgeon or pilot, but Best Buy? What are they afraid of, that you'll get
so engrosed in the movies playing in the store that you can't do your job? The
whole drug testing industry has gotten way out of control, just like the DEA and
the Federal Government, and really the whole drug war. I can't wait for
legalization.

But yeah, pretty much every place but McDonalds and Taco Bell drug test now.

 

I can say with 100% confidence that BestBuy, at least here in CO (I assume it's company-wide), WILL drug test you 24 hours after giving you your conditional job offer form. My best friend works there and that's how it went for him. He hasn't been tested since (they will on reasonable cause and after accidents involving injuries or property damage).
I can also say with 100% confidence that Target is the exact same way, and this is first-hand experience. I smoked a week before my test for Target and then went cold turkey for 2 days, then took Azo 3 times a day for two days, then chilled til my test 3 days later. Passed with flying colors and no tests/concerns since then.

i got a question, lets say they hire you and then you take your drug test and pass, how long till they give you another drug test? or do they?

 

I worked at Best Buy as a car tech/installer and HT rep back in 01 and 02. They asked the drug test question also, but I never had to take one. BUT, apparently that is not the case these days as I have heard and read in a few places that they do pre-employment drug tests now. I don't think you have anything to worry about after the test, unless they have reasonable cause, I don't think they test again. Just stay clean a few days prior and you should be good.

Blix: I agree 100%. Drug tests are so pointless. It costs the company more money anyway...but insurance companies like it. At my company, two very good employees were let go because of random tests that they didn't pass or just didn't go to. Who cares if they smoke a little weed here and there? In MOST cases, it doesn't reflect on how good or bad an employee you are!

 

i was a DI and HT guy 4 years ago for BBY, they DO drug test you and you have 24 hours from the time they inform you that you must take the urinalysis, to walking your happy ass in the lab and pissing.

 

That sucks! They never told me jack about drug testing except for the question and the reasonable cause testing. Whatever.

 

start running miles everyday at a steady pace and sweat it out. water should really be the only thing you're drinking on. all depends on the last time you smoked and when you're taking the test, not to mention your height/weight, body fat percentage, and how much of a regular smoker you are

 

i worked there 4 years ago and my brother that goes to clemson works there now and i called to confirm and make sure my infor wasn't 4 years out of date for you. he said that it's company policy throughout the U.S. and Canada to drug screen everyone who is a first hire or a re-hire

 

you might as well be flipping a damn coin (at best) for your job if you put it all on the line for a detox product the day before why not just spend $35 and get synthetic urine? that way you could blaze one before you go in the day of the actual test and know 100% that you're passing. stuff is balanced for metabolites and will easily get you the job.

Yea, I think we probably worked there around the same time period.

We had a screwy setup and crappy management. Shortly after I quit in 02 they did do some housecleaning and brought in an entirely new management team....LP, assistant mgr, GM, payroll, yada yada. Changed their policies and other stuff also. But I definitely had not heard about them testing until a few months ago.

Guess if I do work there again I'll need to stay clean for a while!

 

One of my friends failed the drug test their and got denied the job... It had been a week since he had smoked.

 

I've had a lot of jobs, and i've never EVER been observed. The only job i've ever pissed for that i was watched was when i joined the marines.

you don't need the whizzinator, that kit comes with everything you need: heating units, dispenser bottle with nozzle tip, thermometer on the side so you can make sure it's in proper temperature range. it's definately stoner friendly.
