Wootas' Outdoor Grow 2009 - GreenHouseCo. Strains

Discussion in 'Outdoor Grow Journals' started by wootas, May 29, 2009.

  1. Hey GC

Got another journal, this time with a few of the ladies outside, guerilla style ;)

If anyone has been following my Indoor Grow JournalI had 8 new green house company strains I had started, and vegged for a few months: 2x Super Silver Haze, 3x Hawaiin Snow, 2x Lemon Skunk, and 1x Arjan's Strawberry Haze.

To start off, here's the original 8 as seedlings...

All phenos were cloned for elimination of lesser quality phenos, in hopes of maintaining only the best strains and pheno of each.

And again after a few months of vegging while being constantly trimmed to maintain height, and increase branching. (clones also there in the bubbler)

Started with 4 sites, 2 ladies at each, adding up to 8 total. The weaker L. Skunk didn't live past the early frost, along with another dead likely due to frost, and a third due to small animal digging it up by the roots..

The sites were carefully chosen and planned out all winter, and precautions against damage have been taken including concentrate to keep away most animals, which will need reapplied soon, and applications of zero tolerance organic bug spray bi weekly.

Here's the first round of pictures I took while out to check on them about 1 1/2 weeks after placement outdoors..

The ladies, besides the casualties, took well to the outside conditions and have been prospering :D

Here's the latest round of pictures from my last visit a week ago, survivors growing well..

Down to 5 as of right now..

Didn't make it to one of four sites to check on the one lady on my last trip, so I'll definately have more updates of each of the surviving ladies soon.

To keep digging animals from the base of the plants I'm going to lay down plastic deer fence on the ground in a foot or two radius around the stalk, sort of like a christmas tree place mat, Idea being to prevent the digging of the ground underneath, while not interfering with the elements or drawing more attention to the greenery by putting up vertical fences at the bases. :)

I'm going to be going out again hopefully tomorrow if conditions allow, to install the ground guards to prevent digging, and snap some new updates to add to an already brand new journal :hello:

Thanks for following along to my fellow blades, hopefully I'll return with news of healthy ladies so I can continue to bring GC pictures of my outdoor grow this 2009 season :smoking:

  2. The pot gods have been kind to you Woota. Great genetics and gorgeous plants. I too am growing the Hawaiian Snow. Such a delicate plant...she doesn't look to be a big yielder but folks swear by the smoke. You need to let us know how she measures up against the SSH. Good luck my man. BTW your spots are perfect...great camo

  3. Looking very very nice!!!!

  4. Looking professional.

  5. agreed:hello:

  6. Your indoor sprouting looked amazing, I am shocked to see such full growth coming from fluoro tubes... I use CFL's, maybe it is time to switch.

I just had a few quick questions...

    1. Will your Super Silver Haze have enough season for it to develop and mature properly? I was under the impression that it is a very dominant Sativa meaning it will take a long season to finish.. aka Where about are you?

    2. Does it not concern you to have 4 seperate plots where traveling may develop definite pathlike patterns through brush? I was ripped off in 2008 and I am almost certain it was from making paths in the woods where there really should not be.

  7. Thanks alot :D The spots have been working excellently as far as being hard to find, well camo'd, and recieving hefty amounts of all day sunlight. The 2 super silver haze phenos are both really close and both look to be among the strongest growing phenos of any strain I've grown, right up there with BBCheese :smoking: The good H.Snow pheno that I have remaining outdoors is looking great, though seemingly more delicate like you had stated, I hope for some awesome snow covered hawaiin goodness ;)

    1. SSHaze is GreenHouseCo's most indica dominant sativa strain, and takes about 9 - 10 weeks to flower. Aka, I'm not very worried about running out of season on those two ladies, if anything, I'd be watching the H.Snow closely towards the end since it requires the longest flowering period of all these strains, and can take up to 13 weeks to fully develop and finish.

    2. No one, I mean no one, walks anywhere close to the plots we have chosen. The outskirts of the wooded area in which we placed them is home to some dirtbike/atv trails, so the closest anyone comes to them is a few kids flying through about a half mile away on dirt bikes and such. Also, there are a few distinguished deer paths through the woods I've seen, and they put any path we may be making to shame as far as noticability. I'm careful to preserve the surrounding wildlife as to make everything look as natural as possible with little to no evidence at all of human presence, and certainly no obvious evidence :D

Thanks to everyone so far for checking this out, as there will be more to come later today from my trip out there last night

  8. WOW those plants were doing great indoors... what kind of soil did you start those in? I bought greenhouse genetics as well, i'm growing the church and big bang. Good luck with your grow, definitely a great start.

  9. Information on my soil mix can be found on the first page of my Indoor Grow Journal, link in my signature ;)

Went out saturday evening and everything is looking wonderful, smelling great as well :D

On this last visit I installed the dig guards, as can be seen in a few of the above pictures. This should ensure no little critters get to digging the roots at any point during the rest of the plant's lives.

    Thanks everyone for watching :smoking:

  10. Looking good, nice work!

  11. damn dude you really got a nice head start on some veg growth. looks great! ill be here till harvest.:smoke:

by the way.... i thought the super silver haze was a sativa?

  12. Super Silver Haze is a very heavy indica traited, but still sativa dominant strain. Greenhouse states that it's the most indica of all the sativas they offer. My SSHaze #1 pheno has the most robust veg. growth of any strain I've yet dealt with, #2 closely following, slightly more sativa dom. traits. I anticipate the Super Silver Haze's most of all and they are sure to be promising, definately a keeper strain I can tell, right up there with the BBCheese :smoking:

  13. Very nice Wootas!

  14. Yes Yes, making the transition well my friend.

Its been awhile since Ive looked at your indoor journals, but Im sure this will be a treat.

I was just wondering, isnt Super Silver Haze a sativa?..... Just Kidding!

Oh it looks like the SSH got a lil nute burn(maybe a def.?) with the different coloered leaves. If it is burn when did it happen? How big?

Great Stuff man. You'll have another great harvest Im sure!!!

    Good Luck.

  15. None of the ladies went through any nutrient burn at any point, as I stick to organic ferts only and have tailored my custom mix to work quite well for my purposes. Some of the lower growth started to die off after a few months, naturally, as the T-5 doesn't provide intense amounts of light more than a foot or so away, as the intensity from the tubes fades more quickly over distance than a more intense MH or HPS for example.

I'm going to be out of town this weekend, and will possibly have a chance to go out for updates either sunday or monday :D

Thanks everyone for watching so far, more to come in a few days :smoking:

  16. Been checkin out the ladies a bunch but haven't said anything in here.

Plants are huge man! theyre gonna be monsters by the time sept rolls around :D Im gonna say maybe 7+ feet?!

    Keep up the great work

  17. They are looking quite healthy mate.

Keep up to good work! Stay safe
