Wondering

  1. Autos can be less hassle and quicker to finish (for the most part), 24hr light no timers...
Genetics can still be a bit of a dice roll seed to seed.
But pretty good for the most part.

Photos you can veg practically indefinitely and cut back like a hedge, take cuttings (clones) from and grow the same plant over and over if you have space for a mother plant in veg and somewhere to grow on and flower the clones.

Alternatively you can veg the plant under 18/6 until you have trained it for max yield then swap to 12/12 light when you're ready...

Kinda depends what you are looking for to which would be more suited to your needs!
Possibly not the answer you wanted, but pragmatic and not biased!

    Snoochie Boochies!

  2. I grow only autofems because they are very, very easy.
Anyone can grow them as a house plant with enough light.
No light schedule or leaks to worry about.
The easier MJ is to grow, the more people will grow it, and that will hasten legalization everywhere.
Autos are the future of cannabis growing.

I just let autos grow the way they want to without any topping, training, or pruning (all of which can be done to autos) in a semi-SOG fashion.

    They can yield huge.
My record is about 1 lb dry for 1 plant (a late flowering giant that had to be trained), but my hydro average is about 1-1.5 oz per sq ft.
My last harvest for untopped untrained autos was 1.2 g per watt, but I don't need or expect that much again.

At this point in history, there is probably more variability among auto phenos than photos, and I've also had a small percentage of weak autos.

  3. Photos: If you want to control height and when it flower. Can take on more abuse and bounce back. If planted outdoors can be a huge bush filled with buds.

Autos: Just plant and leave alone basically. They will flower whenever they feel like it and are usually under 110cm. If planted outdoors don't expect much of a yield and dont take well to transplants and nutrient issues. Sometimes you will buy auto seeds that end up being photos.

  5. I have only grown autos indoors so far no photos except outside where I also only did photos. That's why I have the question. 3x3 tent indoors for yield in quicker time or yield that much more in a little bit longer time?
