Woman had a heart attack down the street

  1. Yep. My adrenaline is coming down now, so I can tell the story here.

Me and the guy who lives here were sitting outside. When a kid rides like 55 MPH down a suburban street and we yell, "SLOW DOWN!" and he screams out the window "My grandmothers having a heart attack!" He pulls in not 4 houses from us. We pick our asses up faster than acidshits and bolt to the house. We get in the door and help this lady up.. I go outside and get the EMT who lives on my block over there. When we get there she is sitting upright and I call the paramedics. They got there in about 5 minutes and I got the young kids out of their way and went outside. I helped them get her in the ambulance and waved them off. The son was full of thanks, but he looked liek eh was about to have a heart attack himself. I offered to drive him to the hospital, he said he would drive himself and left. I closed their door and walked back home and explained it to the neighbors who were kind of confused.

The whole time I wasnt really thinking of this, but it was in the back of my mind.. Since I really dont mind situations liek this *Like, they dont scare me* and I dotn midn the sight of blood and gore or anything like that.. I want to train as an EMT for a couple years and that would absolutely pay for me to have a place to live.. And its basically a skill you keep your whole life. Plus the rush i got just doing all this was really great. I enjoyed the reflexes.. And I dunno.. It was good that we could get this lady up and breathing enough to ell us what was going on.

Im not sure yet.. But this looks promising as a job, even for a while.

  2. fuck yeah that'd be well worth your time to train for that job. looks like you could get addicted to saving lives.

  3. that sucks your nieghbor had a heart attack but it looks like you may have found your niche in the process

  4. You want a job saving grandmothers? Sounds fun. XD!

Oh, nice story. Glad you helped. :)

  5. heh. True true!

That's awesome Durchii. My cousin is an EMT before he became a fireman. He loved it and was really proud of the things he accomplised at the end of the day! He's told me some really heartwarming stories. :smoke: Sounds like an awesome choice! :hello:

  6. My sister was an EMT in a small town in the middle of Alaska.

Usually they don't deal with the severe stuff such as Paramedics...but be ready to see some fucked up shit. Sometimes Paramedics can't get there before you. So...you better not mind blood or gore or anything like that.

That's a good thing for you to want to be though. :)

  7. you ought to be a volunteer fire fighter for a while before you make up your mind.

  8. Dude, my grandma fell and broke her left ankle on both sides about 2 weeks ago.. WHERE WERE YOU ON THAT ONE!?? haha.. just kididng.. i mean, she really did.. but w/e.. And i'm totally going to do the volunteer firefighting thing.. I would've signed up already, but i want to be 100% sure that i dont just want to do it for the sweet lights i could have on my jeep... Before you guys yell, i'd never do it just for the lights.. i really love those adrenaline rushes.. and i really want to do it! I think it would be fuckin fun as hell! (maybe not as fun as hell.. how fun could hell be?? Probably not that fun..) Later!
