As of June 9th, 2019 being the latest information we have so far on Wisconsin with it's neighbors not only legalizing medical marijuana but also recreational, Wisconsin legislature has blocked the proposals. The Joint Finance Committee removed the medical cannabis provisions from the proposed budget. Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald is opposed to medical cannabis. Back in November of 2018, Wisconsin had about a million people participate in a ballot in which medical marijuana was voted a winner and has won in all counties of the state that participated in this ballot. Although legalizing medical marijuana had the upper hand, the people who said no came close to winning, but however did not. Michigan and now Illinois have legalized recreational marijuana, but that isn't stopping Wisconsin as the legislature mostly lives in the past and continues to support prohibition of medical marijuana, recreational marijuana, and decriminalizing marijuana.
