Wiring sockets SO CONFUSED

    I have 4x23watt CFLs, and I'm planning on getting more. I was orignally going to use lamps, worklights, etc, but in my small space it will be to cramped. I wanna get those Y sockets, but I don't understand how to wire them.

    Before you tell me to use the search button or point me to other threads, I already did that and read but I honestly do not understand it at all.

    Any help on this, I specifically like Mr. Postman's grow, I like how it's setup but I'm confused on the wiring issue.

    I plan to have 9x23watt CFLs to grow 2 plants. Any help?:confused::confused::confused:

    the y sockets dont need wired they screw into a normal light socket . if you want to use 9 cfls might be easyer to use 8 go to lowes or homedepot buy 4 y sockets and one bath room light fixture like this
    The Home Depot: 6036-30 4-Light White Strip Fixture then buy a cord in the lighting section that you would use to repair a lamp and a role of electricle tape the rire nuts come with the light ficture . then screw your y sockets in and you have a small 8 cfl set up heres a 3 light i made today in about a half hr and scrap wood [​IMG] and hears one of the y sockets to look for thare normaly in white or a cream color [​IMG]

    Yeah, there's no where to plug those y sockets in, so your saying that I just need to get a light fixture, like the one you have above, buy light repair cord, plug the end wires into the fixture and that's it?

    So basically I just twist the end wires to the inside part and then just plug it into my power strip and magic, it turns on?

    Wow that actually sounds very easy. Thanks I'll be heading to Home Depot this weekend.

    its real easy check out my post on my light i made has simple planes and if you scroll down you will see how simple it is to wire it up . just 2 wires and the fixture comes with wire nuts id also tape it up with some electricle tape as well just to be safe . and also make sure to check the light to see if it gets to hot im not sure how well the fixture will take the y sockets so just watch for extra heat build up might be just as cheap to buy 2 4 light fixtures and 2 cords and run it that way . but heres the link to what i posted tonite simple cfl set up with pics - Grasscity.com Forums

    Ya I checked it. Thanks you've been a real help. I'll ask someone at Home Depot just to make sure I know what I'm doing. Its so simple I can't belive I didn't know how to do it.

    no prob glade i could help its alwas better to ask then just try even more so when its electricle . you probly already know but make sure your cfls are in the rite color to . after you get your set up wired please post a pic to show it off if you can

    Yeahh I can't wait, getting the fixture, sockets, and lights wednesday. I will start up a grow journal than too!

    good luck on ur grow and wiring is very simple (make sure everything is unplugged while u do it) and if it doesnt work when u plug it up just switch the wires... if they are wired wrong it will not cause a fire or anything it just wont work
