wiring computer fans

  1. Is there a cheep way to wire computer fans to run on a wall socket?

  2. use an ac adapter of about 500ma or 5A for one pc fan(it'll say somewhere on the adapter). just strip the ends of the black and red wires of the pc fan and the wires from the ac adapter and attach together. its a 50/50 chance you'll get the wiring done right the first time. plug the ac adapter in after you attach the wires to check and once you have it right put some wire caps on the exposed wires and thats it.

  3. Just thought I would mention that many cell phone ac adapters are 12v and can handle the amperage of pc fans. Perhaps you have an old cell phone around or you can pick one up at Goodwill or similar thrift stores. Good growing :)

  4. any 12 volt power supply will work
