It sure feels nice to kick back and relax with a good amount of herb for the year. Too much working for the pot gods. Please feel free to post hello, scouting pics, what you'll do better next year, what's your outdoor seed line up etc... the whole works i.e. the plan. See you guys next Spring LOL!
Corto, Yeah the outdoor growers really scatter around now. No scouting this year for me, but going to fence in a few spots. Will certainly start them a bit earlier, and visit them only twice. As near to the 'set it an forget it' style grow next year. I'm planning to finish the remainder of seed packs from this year. The Durban plants that I had did not survive, trampled them both. So would really like to try them since they were $90. There's a few strains out there I would like to try, but don't really need any. What do you plan on running next year?
Hi Patriofarmer, Thanks for moving the thread. Yeah every year, a lot of outdoor people disappear lol. The seeds I ordered so far: 5 infamous GHS Train wreck 10 Female seeds Purple and Maroc 4 Female seeds Grapefruit (semi auto) 20 Mandala seeds Safari mix Seeds I'll be buying soon: A pure sativa (feminized) Some early semi autos (guerilla gold...).
What do you guys mean by plant and leave? I don't get much rain during summer where I'm at and it's hot and dry so I imagine I'll be watering at least twice a week.
its better to give them more water less often. in one spot i would give them 15 gallons per plant. then in three weeks i would do the same.
After my 1st ever guerilla grow in 2010 "I'm Hooked", all I grew was 2 female plants from seed brought back from Jamaica...these 2 plants did great! they gave me 2.5x 32 oz. mason jars full of dank bud. For my grow in 2011 I have accumulated the following seeds: 16 x WHL Ok 47 ( of AK47 linage that produces a larger yield) 5 x Thia/haze (freebies) 10 x F4 C99 male x Madness clone = SF greyskull Mountain Madness f2s This fall/winter I have, and will be involved in scouting grow plots, preparing seedstarter mixes (dankohzee style) and planning out better place to cure my 2011 harvest. I have a vermicomposting operation on full tilt going on in my basement, that I know is going to pay off in all of my gardening endeavors. (thanxs to oldpork's post). I also will have to bring water to my grow spots because of hot as hell augusts on the prarie.
What they mean by that is: the object of guerilla growing,(besides the obvious goal of providing yourself with top quality bud for the rest of the year) is to be able to have the plant survive as long as possible without you having to physically visit it. This allows you to grow with out having any visable signs for people to follow and find your plants. Also being out there less means less chance of exposing yourself to someone who may want you or your plants.Know what I mean? In your case you will probably have to water some but you want to keep it to a minimum by using moisture retentive materials in your soil mix and mulching. Your plant is only going to use the top 12" of your soil mainly. There will be a tap root that will go down further but the main feeding goes on in the top layer. So if you dig your hole 3' deep the plant will reside in the top foot and the bottom 2 feet can be used as a resivoir of sorts. Use a mixture of 2 to 1 of peat and vermiculite for this bottom section and a good organic soil that will feed your plant in the top section. Then mulch the heck out of it.You should be able to get by for more than a few days with a hole setup like this. The only way to almost stop all the critters from getting your plants is to use a fence painted green. Everything else kinda works, there is no 100% way that I know of. Harrys Coon Mat works well if coon are your problem. Then put down some slug bait and with just a little bit of rain you should be good for a month. There are lots of ways to accomplish this , its just one that I have used with success. Happy growing BP
Yeah this is all true...climate permitting. I lived in az a few years back and this would simply not be possible where the temps are in the 90's and no precip. If you do live somewhere a bit more temperate, one thing to look for is a spot low enough on the water table to sustain life, but never flood. It ain't easy but such spots do exist. I have a spot that never needs watering. That said I do believe even with such spot, you would benefit visiting a few times throughout the grow. just in case.
this break sure is nice...but im itching to grow wasup outdoors men, you guys pumped for next season! ill definitely be planting seeds next season but im till unsure about the size of the op. i wanted to plant at least 20 but we will see. full scale large plants. majority will be in 20 gal smart pots, staked. might try out some new techniques... seeds.. not sure still debating on seed stock. there will be train wreck for sure!
How often were you watering per week with that kinda temperature and no rain? I live in a similar climate, 90's, etc, during summer and almost no rain except once a month maybe if I'm lucky.
Whats a good way about going and finding one of these spots? I was thinking of using a wick system (some piece of cloth to move moisture up).
Hi that70s, yeah I hear ya, I'm itching too! It's getting awfully chilly here and I better get going for finding more spots before the snow hits the mountains. I just received: 10 female seeds Purple maroc (full size) 4 female seeds Grapefruit (semi auto) 5 fem. GHS trainwreck (full) 20 regular Mandala seeds Safari Mix (full) 4 feminized Kannabia full sized + I'm about to order a pure feminized sativa Congo Haze maybe. A haze cross for sure as my season is very long (mid nov). A pure pure sativa would end in Dac/Jan which ain't happening here though. + some earlier gear (early sept finish) NO AUTOS normally although they say that Amnesia haze (by?) is a bigger newer type of auto. BIg autos are cool if you give em lots of sun early on. I'm mostly going for big feminized plants. The bubble has is wicked strong brotha! I can't wait to make some more and be out in the woods again. See you guys and yeah thanks for checking in Patrio and everybody.
wat up gurillaz. i am pleased to say that i will be joining the brotherhood of lone weed farmers.2011 is the year baby i will do my best.i was really counting on prop 19 to pass but yea it didnt.i had few seeds read too.but now im like FUCK the policeO_O i know the basics bout growing.read ALOT bout growing for years. question:should i be scouting spots in the winter??what should i look for in a good spot? ty guys
What's up 70's, I hope your debating some DNA/RP...lol. Thems some plans you got for next year. I can't use the smart pots because they add 2-3 ft of height, but would love to try them outdoors. They're great indoors, but I just wish they made them a bit deeper. Man it was a bitch, I watered every day. It was in the 100's and dry as a bone. That wasn't the issue though. The desert does not make hiding plants from above easy. Where I live now has temps regularly in the 90's and sometimes touching 100. I still don't need to water ever. Your experience will vary based on your particular climate. I wish I could be more specific. Check your local water table, you want as close to sea level as possible. I don't find a spot, I make my spot. Go on a hell hike if you see a trail don't follow it. You should eventually find an area with secondary growth, no tall trees. Once you find it, push right into the center and clear a patch. Just make sure it is a spot no one in there right mind would go on a leisurely stroll. Your effort put into the spot will pay off. If you aren't drenched in sweat to get to your spot, you run the chance of getting ripped. If you have a spot with groundwater a few feet down, just make sure you dig your holes deep enough and loosen the soil. You shouldn't need a wick, the roots kind of take care of that for you. Good luck. Corto, I think standard genetics are the way to go for a grower with experience, and more importantly climate as yourself. If you find that non auto strain with an early Sept finish let me know. I don't miss growing, but sure miss the warm weather.
there are these hills nearby my place and a hiking trail in a big park. u think its safe to go like down the steep hills?? ive never been down there befor but it has alot of under growth.there might be a stream down there too.
Corto, I see you are going to give Female Seeds a try. I think you'll like them, although I've not tried the ones you are going to use, they seem to put out some quality seeds. I tried the Purple Power and Early Sativa from them. I cloned and planted them at different times. What I noticed is that they all finished about 90 days after I planted them outside. So you can finish plants in July if you want, but the mold at that time of year is terrible here. They definately got bigger and produced more than autos do but with the advantage of being able to control when they finish.
I heard lots of good too. The grapefruit is a semi auto so it should finish quicker but I sure hope the Purplemaroc isn't. The Trainwreck should be fun to grow as well and fisnishes in beg Oct (already grew it and liked the catpiss smell of rock hard buds -Dankohzee's favorite!). I can't clone stuff but that would be great if possible. See you buddy!
The only seeds i have right now is Super Lemon Haze and Afghan Kush x Black Domina. i'm ordering cheese, trainwreck, Jorges diamonds, sweet tooth, LSD, Pineapple Chunk, White Widow, and Sour Kush (headband) I'm looking for a high yeilding auto strain, any suggestions?
auto ak47 from lowlife short term amnesia from dutchbreed's a friend of mine who knows autos very well says these are the best. I d k for yield though;
hey guys just a heads up if your gunna order from attitude they have a sweet freebie give away from dna genetics this weekend.
