Windowsil grow - brown leaves.

  1. Hey, I'm growing a big bang plant on my windowsil.
However I noticed today that the tips of the shade leaves are turning light brown, and the actual flowers on the plant are becoming a little brittle and not as moist as they used to be.
I fertilize with rooster booster(an organic chicken poop fertilizer), time-release pellets.
Also, one of the shade leaves has a chunk out of it, and some light silvery stuff that looks lke a snail trail.

Anyone got ideas as to what is causing this?

I can provide pics if you need it.

    Thanks heaps :)

  2. A picture would help. It sounds like a nutrient problem of some sort plus bugs.

All of the tips of the leaves are like that.

  4. when did u last water? and did they show that after u watered? could be early signs of nute burn..

  5. I water it every time it looks dry.

I'm not sure about nute burn, cause the fertilizer I use is organic and chicken poop. Can't be THAT strong can it? I use about a cube of rockwool worth every two weeks.

EDIT: What would happen to the top of the plant if I picked off the buds between the bottom and top cluster? Would the leaves do this, and would the top of the plant dry out?

  6. It does look like classic nute burn. A very mild case.

    No.

You mean to say you've got buds on that plant and you didn't show us any? You're mean.
