Will you ever quit?

Discussion in 'Beginner Cannabis Consumption & Tips' started by DonkeyBong88, Nov 29, 2010.

  1. Alright blades, I'm curious about something. I've been tokin for a few years now and so have many of my friends. Recently, I graduated college and I'm in that awkward period in between college and some kind of steady job. In the meantime I've kept busy with part-time jobs and such and I've fallen into a sort of habit. I tend to smoke with the same people, at the same times, while doing the same things after getting baked. In conversation the other day, some friends mentioned that they were thinking of quitting eventually. The strange thing was I'd never thought of permanently quitting before. Obviously for drug tests and such in the past I've quit but it had never occurred to me that I might quit later on.

So my questions to you all are as follows:

For those that still smoke, do you find that getting high isn't as exciting or fun as before? If your stoner friends quit (provided you have some) would you quit too? Do you have plans to quit permanently and if so why?

Let me also say that I'm not trying to do what everybody else does, but I always found smoking to be more fun with others. There was a time where I was something of a solo stoner but I far prefer the company of others while I smoke. As a result, I don't know how fun it will be if others quit.

    Thoughts?

  2. I try to vary it up every now and then. Smoke at different places, different times of days or do different things after you smoke. Sometimes I take a nice nature walk through the woods or get ripped and have a snowball fight with my friends or go walk through the woods and play on ice and such.

  3. weed is a part of my lifestyle now, It gives me a good release like nothing else can, it also relaxes me and removes a lot of negative thoughts I have.

So far I have my mind set on not ever quitting, but who knows...

  4. I want to grow old and smoke my ganja while doing it, but I might take long breaks occasionally. If I get kids in the future I might leave toking till I feel it's responsible to do it again. But for the next 10 years? No. I guess time will show.

  5. 60 or so yrs from now (granted 2012 doesnt fuck all of us royally in the asshole) you'll see me tokin up on a farmers porch in a rocking chair with my dog laying next to me. Tis the dream:smoke:

  6. I've thought about this too. A couple of my friends have mentioned that they'll quit after graduating college.

Idk about me though. I guess we'll see when the time comes (probably when I get a steady job or have kids)

  7. I will continue to smoke weed as long as it is convenient within my life. As I grow older, I plan to have more activities or responsibilities to fill out my day and if I get to the point where I can't smoke weed anymore then I won't.

  8. I don't see why you should stop. As some else said, I try to vary where and who I smoke with. I love my friends, but sometimes it is nice to smoke with different people. I have been on a big break since I lost my last job (I hate old women, didn't get fired because of weed.) It has been nice to just take a break. Hoping to get a job in the next week and start smoking again.

  9. I'll never quit, unless something serious happened and i was forced to. After 7 years of toking, i dont feel like im anywhere near getting bored with any aspect of getting high...some people do some dont...i feel like im going to be one of those people who smoked a majority of their lives hahahaha

  10. Weed is always a fun experience and something that's always been beneficial to me, never gets old and it's something the enhances my life and productivity. You can say it's my lifestyle, everything I do can usually revolve around it.

I for one, will never quit. It's been so beneficial, I could never let it go (unless I had to). You'll see me smoking till the day I die. :)

  11. After college or maybe even during i think ima have to tone it down or temporarily quit because of my career choice but then again do big jobs/cooperations who make millions really take the time to drug test employees? Idk probably and btw im going into civil or aerospace engineer sooo only time will tell if i must quit because of my career (hope not)

  12. I just finished college and havn't smoked for a while due to job interviews. I have recently been thinking if these jobs are really worth it. I am a person that could easily smoke for the rest of my life. Marijuana effects are so beneficial to me and I have really been thinking what's more important to me in life. Making a lot of money in lame jobs that require me to work nights which would destroy my social life or just have fun from here on out... Hmmm

  13. depends on what country I am in. If I need to move back long term then I would have to quit whether I like it or not :(
There is pretty much only smuggled in brick weed there anyway -_-"

  14. I'll only stop if continuing to smoke will absolutely ruin my life. I don't see anything wrong with smoking on and off throughout my life. If things go well, I hope to be smoking forever, while continuing to stay healthy and fit.

  15. :hello::hello::hello::hello:

  16. I feel like quitting after bad experiences (which is about 60% of the time, I'm new and a lot of the people I've smoked with have been assholes lately). But I never actually follow through since I know I just need to find my time to use it.

  17. 1: Yes, because I've done it enough to become accustomed to it...I still find it relaxing, peaceful, fun, it changes my perceptions and gives me introspection.

2: No, because I do not follow my friends like a sheep.

3: No, I use the substance responsibly and it doesn't control my life. My consumption method is actually *good* for my health. I've been at my current level of usage for a long while now so it's not about to go up, as long as I continue moderating I see no need to stop or even lessen my consumption.

  18. Honestly? Yes. But one doesn't "quit" mary jane. She's always with you in the sense of the memories and relationships created with her beside you. So, though we may part one day, it is inconceivable to me that I would ever not miss the caress of that sweet flower. But, for now, marijuana is fucking awesome and Ima smoke all day errday. :smoke:

  19. I started at the age of 9 and now in my 40's and will smoke until I die.I enjoy smokeing, growing and talking about it to much to quit. I know several friends and family members and such thats quit years ago but use to smoke with me all the time. Two are actually officers now and I see them around, they never bother me knowing everything am doing.Still come bye for dinner or barbaque during the summer.I still get the same high as from day one.Never smoke the samething more then a day or two and switch between grades. That keeps your tolerance levels from building up to a strain!! Works for me,probally wont work for others though, never know!!

  20. I've talked about the high not being what it used to be when we all started. I think that if/when ( still undecided ) i quit, it would be in maybe 10-20 years when i need to take life more seriously then it needs to be taken this present day.
