just a curious question, i curently have 1 400w hps & 2 150w hps, & i use the 150w's for sup lighting, & was wondering if i could take some Y socket adaptors & split the 150's to 2 75w hps, b/c 75 x 2 = 150, so shouldnt it work.
theoretically is seems possible, since you arent going over the max wattage. but do they even make Y adapters of that size?
Well the way I look at it is this. Resistance is one thing, wattage is another. I don't know if this applies to HPS ballasts or not, never tried it. But with a fluoro ballast, they are labled specifically for 1-2-3-4 bulb applications. My advice is no. I would think that the ballast would handle it fine, but the igniter and cap may not.
