I am an experienced outdoor grower, but haven't really tried indoors. The last year or two I have kept clones from a strain alive in a closet indoors and kept them alive through the winter and put them out in spring to grow into giant plants.(using incadescent blue bulb plant lights) But now I'm trying to grow a few plants indoors also. I only want to grow 5 to 10 plants. But I have limited supplies that I want to use. I was wandering if you guys thought this might work ? FIRST, I have a reagular shoplight for vegg. (coolwhite40 watt bulbs). And another old one bulb four foot fixture in there to. Thats three bulbs (close together). And two 42 watt CFL's in another closet , Will they work to FLOWER a couple small plants ? ALSO they are SOFT WHITE CFL's. But they look to be redder light than my shoplight coolwhites. I have fans in each closet and a humidifier in each for humidity. (NOTE) I have allready have started some really good seeds and they have been vegg. for about 2 weeks. They are doing great. Do you guys think this will work ?
Sorry forgot to include that I want to keep them short and flower them after 3 wks vegg. growth. PEACE
cool white is better for vegging, soft white better for flowering but either will work for either in the end. you'll be able to pull it off with what you have but your yeild may be a bit on the low side. home depot has shop light dual bulb ballasts for $8 and either kind of bulb for $5 pair. if invest $26 for two more ballasts and two pairs bulbs your yeild will go up substantially.
I will take a look into that dual ballast. Appreciate it man. I'm using the shoplights for vegg. . Do you think that I should use the shoplight for flowering by changing the bulbs or use the two 42 watt CFL'c (soft white's) that I'm planning on using. Which would be better ?
