1) Alright the dimensions are in the pics and i was just wondering wether or not this is big enough for a one plant grow up. Ill be takin the shleves out and putting on a door if so. 2) Is this fan useful, or is it too powerful for such a small area. Could I use it to push the air out somehow? 3) How many CFL lights/watts would I need for Veg/Flowering. Iv been reading all day but havent found any ones grow like mine ANY tips of where i should place lights, vents, pots etc... would help me SO much I made a thread in Grow design forums but no one really replied and figured I'd have better luck here so if you must (admins) delete my other thread.
You can definitly use that space for a small grow. I would say 75 watts would be enough. maybe 2 42w cfls. One cool one warm. Cut a hole in the bottom for intake, then cut a hole somewhere in the top for exhaust. Use the fan the blow the air out. When the plant gets 5 or 6 inches tall, you can begin to do some LST to control the growth to fit your space. Switch to 12/12 when the plant is 1/3 of the grow space size.
Sic man, thanks for the reply. Do you kno how i would go about putting that fan, is it bad to have light escape for the plant? What if i put tubing connected to the hole does it matter if light goes thru there a bit?? Thanks so much
Be more worried about light leaking in, some light loss isn't BAD for the plant. If light leaks in you can have a sexual hermie, not too sexy. Maybe invest in mylar for the inside would be better reflection
I just installed a tube into the bottom of the cabinent for air to flow into and was wondering if it will go in on its own or if i should be having a fan put somewhere inside/outside .. What is everyones input on this, I have another tube like this one if i should be putting 2 of them in. As you can see I have hinged a new door on aswell. Its not fully light proof but Im doing this one step at a time Muffin I got 2 questions about your post. Firstly, If i were to use a +5 inch deep tray would i be able to keep my plant growing in the from start to finish? Secondly, How would i go about putting that fan in, should it be right up to the side where i cut my hole, or should i place it abit further away from the hole so it pushes the air into the hole/tube ANY other comments would be appreciated Thanks
nice, those tubes are kinda needed, without them all kinds of light leaks in... what is the size of that hole? theres two ways u can set up ur fans but either way they should be right up aganst the tubes: 1 u could cut a slot at the top of the cab, with 2 intakes so the high pressure of the air inside will push all the hot air up and out through the slots. id say put the second intake right across from the first. 2 u could use one fan for intake and one for an exaust, try to put it high up on the opposite side as ur intake. if ur cab is well sealed the 1st design should work better, but if not the pressure wont build up and the 2nd would work better. if u want to seal it better, go to any department store and buy weather stripping, its easy to install, just peel off the backing and just make a strip around the door. would fix the light issue to... (heres a pic so u know what ur looking for) about the tray, it will work all the way through if it covers the whole bottom of the cab, if its a bit smaller just make sure its a bit deeper. if u cant find a good one im sure u could easyly build the perfect tray. lst should be real easy to, just bend half the plant left half right hope this helped
awesome i have a smaller grow space and im using cfls i have 180 watts total of cfls haha its growing so fast I think atleast im new at this its going to be a awesome set up i will deff keep checking back
Awsome man thanks for replying. Im gana go with the second choice. One intake and one exhaust on top opposite side. The tube is 1 1/2" Im gana get 2-3 30W daylight CFL's (4000-6000K) for vegging and 2-3 Soft or warm CFL's (2700K) for Flowering. Does that sound about right? Thanks!!!
