This is going to be my 1st grow and a small PC grow is pretty much my only option and I don't expect to get a huge yield just some decent bud to smoke I plan on growing in an old PC case that is 16.2 inches high and 7.4 inches wide, its a small PC case but I figured with enough effort it might work. I plan On buying a timer and a power strip to attatch to the top of the inside of the PC. I will also buy the adapters to be able to plug in the lightbulbs to the power strip. I would imagine that ventilation is already taken care of because of the fans already installed. This is only as much as I know right now. I have no clue as to what to buy for lighting I just know that I what to go the CFL route. So I have the following questions. 1) How many lights do I need per plant and what wattage etc. 2) What different lights do I need for vegging and flowering? 3) What nutrients do I buy? Any help is appreciated.
For sprouts, you will be fine with like 2 - 23 watt bulbs per plant. Rule of thumb is 100 actual watts plus fifty watts for every other plant you add. But 23's will work for now until they get bigger. You want 6500k (daylight) for veg. And 2700k (soft white) for flower. However, I have 7 23 watt bulbs flowering these guys and am adding a 65 watt later to help the lumens use the side of the bulbs as much as you can. This is where it is where its getting me. . . View attachment 973716 Nutes. . . .I mix up my own soils now. . .but I use humus, guano, perlite, peat moss, top soil, and vermiculite. Then pretty much I'm tap water from there. But you want a good high nitrogen for veg. Start out only using 1/4 of the dose to avoid hurting them. Then from there you ride till flower, find a bloom nute. Low on nitrogen and higher in potassium and phosphorous. Be gentle. Lol but I don't mute anymore so I'm not the beat advice on that subject. Good luck friend. Oh! Another issue that I will encounter is that in two months I will be moving, when that times come will my growbox be able to remain unplugged for about an hour without damaging any plants?
Yes. By that time, since you're in a computer box, you will be in flower. . .hopefully. lol so at that point ya just got to coordinate the move during lights off, or take them completely out during lights on to move them. You'll be alright if you plan around that depending on what time of day you move them. But you can't let them veg for too long before flowering them in a computer box. Remember, they double, or even triple in size during flower.
