Will this setup work for seedlings?

Discussion in 'Grow Room Design/Setup' started by Grey8, Feb 3, 2019.

  1. I have an 8 watt LED light that I've been using to grow the seedlings. I also have a 15 watt LED light with 1250 lumens that I am currently not using, should I be using this in addition with the 8 watt LED? I want to make sure the seedlings don't fall over. Is this set up ok for seedlings? What should I be concerned about in terms of LED lights. Wattage, Lumens, or both? Here are some photos of my set up. Any help and advice is appreciated as I am new to growing. Thanks

  3. 8 watts is too little. Generally you will want 50 watts per square foot.

  4. Agreed, 8w is pretty low. Just for veg I use about 25w sqft. For flower you'll need about 50w sqft.

  5. I would get a 2bulb 2ft T5 light at the very minimum and 4bulb would be better. You should be able to find them at Home Depot or Lowe’s pretty easily.
